Chapter 24 - The Second-grade Mage, Leon Flos

Lily then told Leon about Noah's situation.

Leon was shocked when he heard Lily say that Noah could cast magic without chanting.

Then, he looked at Noah in disbelief.

"Lily said that you don't need to chant to cast magic. Is that true?" Leon quickly walked to Noah and grabbed him.

Leon's reaction gave Noah a shock, and he couldn't help but retreat. However, his hands were firmly held by Leon, and he couldn't move at all.

After hesitating for a moment, Noah nodded.

Leon still couldn't believe it was true after hearing Noah's response.

"I'm sorry, I was too excited. You don't have to be nervous, I just want to confirm my guess. Can you demonstrate?" Leon realized that he had lost his composure, so he explained.

"Demonstration? In this place?" Noah looked around. If he released magic here, would he not blow up the mage tower?

"I'm sorry. Come with me."

Then, Leon brought Noah and Lily to another empty room.

This was a place similar to a shooting range. There were dozens of Dummies in front of Noah. Some of them were wearing armor, while others were like the skin of beasts.

"Let's try it here," Leon said softly.

Looking at Leon's expectant expression, Noah knew that he had to show off no matter what. He was actually worried that his unusual behavior would bring him trouble, but now it was already like this. He could only see hope in Leon's eyes and no malice.

After thinking about it, Noah was no longer conflicted.

He slowly raised his arm, and the next moment, the temperature in the room suddenly rose. Under Noah's control, a purple-black fireball the size of a head suddenly condensed.

Noah only had one thought, and the fireball was shot at the dummy.

"Boom!"

Following the sound of an explosion, a dummy wearing iron armor was pierced through alive. The iron armor even sizzled from corrosion.

After casting the fireball, Noah turned to Leon, who had his eyes wide open and his fists clenched. His body seemed to be trembling with excitement.

"Companion magic! Companion magic! I, Leon, have lived for more than a hundred years, and I've finally seen companion magic!"

Hearing Leon's words, Noah was also very curious.

"Companion magic? What's that?" Didn't he get this fireball spell from that giant Wolf?

"Teacher, is it really companion magic?" Lily came over and asked.

"Tt can't be wrong. It's exactly the same as the books. You don't need to chant an incantation. You only need to think about it to cast a spell. The power of the spell will increase as the magician's strength increases!"

Hearing her teacher's answer, Lily was even more curious. Who was Noah? He had an extremely rare companion spell and could not speak their language. All of this made Noah extremely mysterious.

"Teacher, do you have a way to solve his language barrier problem?" Lily asked.

"That's a small problem."

Leon then walked up to Noah. The ring on his finger flashed, and a staff appeared in his hand.

Noah looked at the staff in Leon's hand. Compared to Lily's, it looked more textured. It was also black in color, but there were some vague and complicated patterns on Leon's staff.

After taking out his staff, Leon began to chant an incantation. Noah only heard the words "Isolde". As the staff gently touched his head, a white light flashed and disappeared.

"Alright, you can try to speak now," Leon said.

"Lily?" Noah tried to call Lily's name.

"What's wrong?" Lily smiled.

"I can communicate with you guys now..."

"It seems so." Leon also smiled.

The problem that had been plaguing Noah was finally solved.

"Speaking of which, I still don't know your name. Can you tell me now?" Lily asked.

"I'm Noah."

"Noah," Lily whispered.

"No matter what, we can finally communicate normally." Lily smiled.

"Thank you, Mr. Leon," Noah said to Leon gratefully.

Leon shook his head, indicating that he did not need to worry about it.

"You don't have to be so distant. If you don't mind, you can call me Teacher like Lily."

Hearing her teacher's words, Lily was a little surprised.

"Teacher, you..."

"I only have one student in my life. If you don't mind, I can be your teacher and teach you magic," Leon asked Noah for his opinion sincerely.

It was no wonder that Lily was surprised. It was rare for an official mage to take a disciple on his own initiative, and it was even rarer for a second-grade mage like Leon to take the initiative to do so. Even she was only able to become a student of Leon because of her talent and her father's status as the mayor of the city of Serbia.

For an ordinary person to become an official disciple of a second-grade mage, it was harder than ascending to heaven.

Not only did one have to be talented in magic, but they also had to go through many tests. They could not become an official disciple at the beginning. They had to start as an apprentice, and the duration was usually three to five years. During this time, they had to sketch at least four magic runes through meditation before they could become an official disciple.

However, Leon directly made Noah his official disciple, and he even asked in a questioning tone. It could be seen how much Leon valued Noah!

Hearing Leon's words, Noah began to think carefully. His understanding of this world was like a blank piece of paper, and he urgently needed to have a full understanding of it. Now that a second-grade mage was willing to be his guide, he could not only learn about this magic world through Leon, but he could also practice magic with him.

Thinking about it, Noah no longer hesitated.

"Teacher!" Noah bent down and called out respectfully.

"Good! Good!" Leon also smiled when he heard Noah's address.

It was his fortune to have a disciple who knew companion magic. From what he had learned from the ancient books, every mage who had mastered companion magic was at least a fifth-grade mage!

That was a mage of the fifth rank! There was not a single fifth-grade mage in the entire southern islands, and there were not even any fourth-grade mages. They would only appear in middle-earth, but even in middle-earth, fifth-grade mages were at the top of the pyramid!

His disciple had the potential to become such an existence. Unfortunately, the southern islands lacked resources, so it was difficult for Noah to become a fourth-grade mage. However, it was definitely not a problem for him to become a third-grade mage. third-grade mages were already very rare in the entire southern islands!

Moreover, there was no guarantee that Noah would have the opportunity to go to middle-earth and become an even greater existence. As Noah's teacher, he would naturally be honored!

Thinking of this, Leon was determined to train Noah well. When the time came, he would let that old bastard Dylan Brown see whose disciple was better.

Just like that, Noah and Lily began to study magic under Leon. Noah finally had a basic understanding of the world through the books in the mage tower...
