Having completed all the testing for the day Cruz returned to the summoning area where the only remaining statues still intact were that of the former twins that were still just sitting there in the corner of the room undisturbed. Not likely they were going anywhere or more like they could not go anywhere at least not on their own that is
Cruz Dusti then walked over to where the twins were located and then took a good look at the duo. Examine them from head to toe a few times before stepping back to gather his thoughts.
"It's like looking into a mirror almost," Cruz thought to himself out loud as it was hard to tell which twin would have been which since they look exactly the same in every way.
That was when he than heard a voice asking him something all of sudden
"Requesting permission to move it into storage,"
It was not coming from anyone in the room as there were no other humans within the room at the moment other than Cruz. This was the soul of his Dagger who asked him this question. One thing he would add after all those that managed to get chosen by weapons was that they can communicate with their owners even when not manifesting into their human form. Though this was not a trait that all weapons shared as some would never speak unless spoken to directly while others could only follow orders and nothing else.
This caused Cruz to wonder about that as there were several reasons why the twins were not already with an owner and their bodies were just empty broken shells that still needed to be fully cleaned up. After the shells of weapons were of a higher grade than those that were merely considered failures. As their souls could not even be processed into weapons only converted into the diamond like substance the rest of their bodies were turned into.
While cleaning up the rest Cruz wanted to liven things up a bit as it was getting boring for him to have to constantly deal with the otherworlders who would keep telling him things that were only their fictional views of what otherworldly summoning would be like and/or things like human rights. They were human rights but why would human rights of their world apply to be that were not even from their world in the first place?
As for the thing about storage that where those like the twins would have been placed since they were not acquired by another today? They would be kept in the storage area with the others until they were sure that they were not actually duds as that did happen from time to time. Those that did not have the capability of being smelted and processed into weapons got mixed in with those that do.
They were taken to the storage area where they would be kept only brought out every now and then to see if anyone could obtain the weapons that were supposed to be within them. However, it was a pain to lug around their statues back and forth from storage(not that Cruz was doing any of the liftings, he just orders a weapon to do it in their humanoid form).
The twins were two statues so that might be double the pain to deal with.
So Cruz decided to just leave them there but instead of leaving them in the corner of the room like they were before.
"Go pick them up and move them to the center of the room instead" he ordered his weapon.
"As you wish, owner" the dagger spoke
Assuming her humanoid form, a girl with hair that looked burnt at the ends, lifted the two with greater effort than would normally be required from a weapon of her caliber. Though this would be lost on Cruz despite him waiting for his weapon the entire time this was happening.
'Guess I will just leave them here as could be interesting to have them there when the next batch gets summoned and see their reaction. Maybe it would serve as a distraction to draw their attention long enough' Cruz thought.
Having finished her task, she returned to her owner's side assuming her dagger form once again. As Cruz Dusti then went about leaving the room for the final time that day. Taking the hover crates he had brought with him to load of the rest of the diamond like shells of all the other weapons for proper process and sale.
The lights were then turned out to leave the twin in darkness as they managed to dodge a bullet. Being labeled a dud could eventually be led to them being dismantled as what good was a weapon that could be accessed? Thus melted down and converted and used as a mere coating for more traditional weapons and armor.
Making a weapon and/or armor from them in unawakened form was akin to legendary class but there was a vast downside. They had to be considered a dud and only a grandmaster class of forging, smiting, and crafting together along with doing the whole process in one go by themselves. That was the requirement and failing to do would result not just in failure but the loss of both the grandmaster and everything a few miles around them.
There was only one such set in the world at the moment and the one that did it died shortly after from complete exhaustion. Even then no one has ever seen the set with their own eyes causing many to think the story is made up by the country claiming they have one. It did not have a weapon made for other worlds. Though another story is that no one knows if the legendary weapon and armor are real because no one is alive after seeing it. Dead people tell no tales after all.
Leaving an already fully processed sentient weapon in the summoning circle would not do anything to the twins as they could process twice after all.
