"Though, there is one more thing that I want to tell you."
"What is it, brother?"
"You should probably try to make the entrance to this place harder to stumble upon," said Kivas with a straight face, if he ever had one. "I don't know how many intruders you're having, but the location of the gate portal thing is one of the earliest things I found when I got here."
"I can assure you, brother. My friend has casted a terribly complex cognition spell formation onto the entrance of this place. The functionality of that spell might deteriorate over time but it won't be as vulnerable as a random group or even a purposeful group of people barging in."
"... Are you sure?"
"Most definitely. Albeit, I did sense some foreign intrusion from a third party that weakened the effect of the spell drastically."
"When did you feel it?"
"Just a few hours before the gate is reactivated and the group and you enter. Of course, because of it, a couple of prudent creatures with mushrooms on its back also entered this realm after your appearance."
"Hmm, is there any time dilation between this realm and the real world?"
"Definitely. It's inconsistent as far as I know, but the time in this realm is always slightly slower than the real world if there aren't any major events happening in the vein of the world."
"Vein of the world?"
"Just a metaphor for the chronological strings of events in the real world."
Kivas noticed the time discrepancy.
If the spell casted onto the gate was weakened just today, and there was no massive time dilation between the time of the weakening and the arrival just like what Samsong stated, then how come he was able to stumble upon the gate two days before this whole fiasco?
"It seems like you have something in your mind, brother."
"I stumbled upon the gate 2 days before the weakening."
"That is, something I've never put into consideration, now that I think about it." While his tone of speaking was still the same, there was a major change of expression on the talking goat head. "I didn't feel any changes at all outside of the nearest time of the intruders. Sure, there might be a case where something or someone managed to enter the realm, but that was thousands of years ago and they didn't even use the portal that you and that group went through."
"Hmm, it might either be the effect of the boons I chose or the inherited trait of the Torch of Blight."
"That should be likely." The goat's head shook himself up and down. "Regardless of all the triviality. I'm at my utmost grateful for your help. Do you have any plans moving forward after all of this?"
"I have one more brat back home that I'm worried about. It's not my kid but something iffy might happen if I'm not there soon."
"Of course, it's what I've expected as well." The goat's head fell off from the giant flower and rolled on the ground onto Kivas' side. "As a thank you gesture of mine, you shall bring me with you to the world outside. My ancient wisdom and interspecies translator ability might prove helpful, ey?"
"Are you sure? Won't this realm go unprotected?" said Kivas in an unbelieving tone, more of monotone even. "Because if it's possible, you would split yourself and have a quarter or half of your vessel being here and outside at the same time. Unless you haven't told me that you could…"
"It's just like you predicted, brother. It's impossible for Samsong to leave this realm unattended by the slightest."
"Then how do I even bring you outside without unleashing those eldritch horror to the wild…?"
"Worry not." Vines grew on the ground surrounding the goat's head, taking it up to Kivas' side before tying up the head to the lower section of Kivas' dorsal hand with the vines, and merging itself to the goat's head flesh. "The part of Samsong that is currently talking to you all this time is only one of the many parts of Samsong's personality."
"You mean that you're not the real Samsong."
"Wrong, yet correct! I'm still the same person, but my old self is bored to hell and back that they began to develop several consciousnesses just to kill some time." The decapitated goat gestured a smile, showing his excited teeth. "So we all decided that I shall go with you to explore the vast world and far, helping you while also sending some story for the other bored consciousnesses to entertain themselves."
Kivas felt like he was supposed to get a purple orb for knowing that.
"Just how many personalities you have…"
"1,032 of them."
"My condolences…"
The goat head didn't quite catch Kivas' sympathy in that matter. "So, you might as well give me a new name to fit you along, brother!"
"A new name, huh." Kivas remembered the Latin phrase that was used as the motto of the United States Marine Corps. "Semper, your name shall be Semper Fidelis!"
"'Always Faithful', such an awestrucking name! I applaud your way of thinking, brother." Semper looked smug. "Just like the name you gave me, I shall give my utmost faith and loyalty to you till the end of space and time!"
"Now that is one hell of a commitment you're walking into." Kivas laughed joyfully.
"I believe that there is a philosophy and mortal attachment that made you grant such a name. Any history and culture you have related to it?"
"It's less of a culture, but more of a motto of life." If Kivas could even show an expression, he would be showing a big self-proud grin as of now. "It's not mine either, but damn does it work wonders."
Afterward, Semper guided Kivas to a temporary portal that would let him exit the realm to somewhere in the vicinity of the original gate portal.
As for the original gate portal, Samsong cut its connection and made sure that it won't be accessed by anything and anybody in the future.
There won't be interference within the realm anytime soon.
