I have returned to the mission log to update anyone who may read this one day. We began investigating this planet even more, which by the way, we have named "Forsaken", because we suspect it was destined to fail. Subsurface scans on forsaken reveal substantial amounts of Gylithium. Orbital Mining platforms were moved into position.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The following incidents have occurred since mining began:
Incident 1: Minutes after orbital drilling began, mining station 2 broadcasted a distress signal and all contact was lost. Station presumed destroyed, cause unknown.
Incident 2: Mining station 3 was deployed, along with a full security detail. Within minutes of resuming drilling, contact was again lost. Stations 2 and 3 are presumed destroyed with an unknown cause.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After these two incidents, operations involving forsaken have been paused. The completed translation of the signal from the machine orbiting forsaken has offered clarity on the situation at hand. It reads "Welcome to planet 3 of the Thendrian Solar Federation! Please enjoy your time in this wonderful place and remember the rules: Take nothing but pictures. Failure to abide by these rules will result in a situation where you wish you were able to off yourself". After this translation, as said earlier, this planet is to be left alone until operations are resumed.
