Chapter 1 - 1: [Exiled in an Inhospitable Place] (1)

Ren Bahamut, the third prince of the kingdom of Bahamut, was looking out the window of the carriage, ignoring the yelling of all the inhabitants of the capital, who were insulting him for being good-for-nothing, a piece of trash, the worst disgrace that had appeared in the royal family.

He, a handsome young man with messy black hair, green eyes with strange pink pupil, which showed that he had been blessed with an ability from birth, what the inhabitants of this world called a "chosen one". Ren was wearing a dark blue robe with with gold trim that marked his noble ancestry.

"Seriously, this is starting to get boring" - Ren said as he shook his head - "Don't you think so too, Eric?"

"It's not like we can blame them, not when no one but the royal family and a lucky few know the truth" - replied Eric, a handsome blond-haired man in his early twenties, and Ren's best friend for as long as he could remember.

Eric was not only a knight with enormous potential despite not being a chosen one, but he was also the son of the captain of the kingdom's royal guard, from a very young age, it was decided that he would become Ren's personal bodyguard, and honestly he was happy with this because his friend was the most interesting person he had ever met, despite all the rumors surrounding him.

"True, though I still can't understand how these idiots could possibly believe such a stupid excuse" - Ren said disdainfully as he pulled his head back inside because the inhabitants of the capital were starting to throw trash at him - "Tch, tch, tch, even being banished, it's grossly disrespectful to throw trash at a member of royalty."

"Although one would expect nothing less from idiots who are leading the kingdom to a horrible fate" - Eric said as he nodded at his best friend's words.

The kingdom of Bahamut, the most powerful human nation on the continent of Exsus, a national power that could fight with monstrosities like the kingdom of the ancient forest elves, or the empire of the beastmen led by Apollo, the ripper, a werewolf who had risen as emperor after killing all the other beastmen.

"I suppose our stability as a national power..." - Ren said, though he quickly shook his head - "I'd better stop thinking about this, after all, the stability of the kingdom is no longer my business."

"Cruel, but true" - Eric said as he shook his head.

"What did your fiancée say when she found out you were going to be exiled with me?" - Ren asked curiously.

"Oh, she..." - replied Eric as he let out a laugh - "You know very well how she is, the moment she knew that I was exiled with you, she threw away her title as heiress and decided to follow me, honestly, I don't know what kind of good person I was in my previous life to be blessed with a woman like Elisabeth."

Elisabeth Norman, eldest daughter of the Norman ducal house, as well as the most intelligent woman in the kingdom, she proved since a very young age that she had the intellect for business, helping her family to flourish, that's why many people tried to create a connection with her through marriage, although they quickly desisted when they heard that she had already been engaged to Eric, the son of the captain of the royal guard, and one of the most important people of the current king.

"I still don't understand how she can be so smart and have so many good ideas" - Ren said while shaking his head, he had had many encounters with Elisabeth, and although she was not as beautiful as many of the girls who were in the royal harem of his brothers, she had a mysterious charm, as if she was unique in this world.

"I know, it's strange, after all, she's not a chosen one like you, Ren" - Eric answered while shaking his head.

"Your Excellency Ren, we have already arrived at the exit of the capital" - said the driver of the carriage.

"Thank you very much, Max, I'm sorry you have to come with us" - said Ren while apologizing to his servant.

"Oh, you don't have to worry, the king allowed me to bring my family, besides, I know very well that things are not as dangerous as the people in the capital claim it to be" - replied Max with a small smile, after all, he had been Ren's servant since he was 5 years old, and he had seen what this young man was capable of.

"Thank you for trusting me, old friend" - Ren said as he nodded in the direction of the 30-year-old man.

"Ok, I think it's time for me to do my job, besides, I have to leave, so I can talk to Elisabeth" - Eric said as he shrugged his shoulders.

Ren smiled slightly before dismissing his friend, and seeing that he was now alone, he slowly closed his eyes as he remembered what had happened this morning.

* * * * * *

"I, Enroy N. Bahamut, banish you, Ren D. Bahamut for your incompetence!" - exclaimed a burly man who more than a ruler, looked like a warrior, one who had gone through years of training, sweat and blood.

Next to him were two young men, one about 24 years old and the other about 30, the two seemed to be copies of the king because their builds were similar. The first was Brand F. Bahamut, current commanding general of the kingdom's army, as well as the next heir of the throne, he was a blond man with green eyes with pink pupils, whose blessing was known throughout the kingdom and the reason why they called him the Monster of the Battlefield, his ability was [Herculean Strength], which made him able to triple his base power. The second was a man with black hair and eyes similar to his brother, he was wearing heavy armor and had a huge shield on his back, he was Sigurd B. Bahamut, the man who was called the pillar of the empire, thanks to his blessing called [Aegis], a power that amplified his defenses to levels that made him invulnerable.

The two princes were considered the sword and shield of the kingdom of Bahamut, and were currently looking with displeasure at the young man in front of them.

Ren D. Bahamut, the third prince of the empire, and just like his two brothers, he was blessed by the gods, although his build was quite different from the rest of his family, after all, he was thin, proving that he had not trained during his life, or at least not like his brothers.

"Do you have something to say, Ren?" - Enroy asked with a face as cold as the coldest tundra in the north.

"No..." - Ren replied as he lowered his head, though those present could see how the young man was clenching his fists in fury, though it wasn't as if they cared, after all, it was nationally known that Ren was the black sheep of the family, a young man who was not blessed by the god of war, but rather by another entity, and this was shown because his unique ability was [Tower of Babel], which made him basically the wisest person in the world, because the moment he had a doubt, he could get the necessary knowledge, that's why they called him Ren, the jester.

"Well, it's good to see that you accepted your fate" - Enroy said as he tapped his throne impatiently - "Your subordinates have been assigned, just like your fate..."

"Where will I be banished to?" - Ren asked as he weakly raised his head.

"Surt" - Enroy replied neutrally.

"Impossible, that place is basically hell!" - Ren exclaimed as he stood up abruptly - "I know I'm not as useful as my brothers, but you can't do this to me, father!"

"How dare you insult our father!" - Sigurd exclaimed angrily as he grabbed his large shield - "The decision has been made, that place was assigned to you because it's obvious we don't want to see your face ever again!"

Multiple murmurs began to echo in the throne room because no one expected the monarch to be so cruel to his youngest son, although these were silenced by the king with a simple glance.

"Sigurd is right, this decision has been made, so you'd better accept it" - Enroy said neutrally - "Meeting over, I want you to spread the news of the banishment of Ren, the jester."

The nobles who witnessed this, simply nodded, though not before giving the youngest prince a pitying look.

"You are dismissed" - Enroy said as he looked at the knights, who simply followed the monarch's instructions.

Enroy was silent for a few seconds, though this caused his expression to fall, as well as that of his sons, who simply let out a laugh.

"Well, this went as we thought" - Ren said as he shook his head - "I even managed to detect some changes in some of our little nobles."

"As would be expected from my wisest son" - said Enroy with a huge smile, a massive contrast compared to the cold king who had decided to exile his son.
