"Susu?" He started, watching as she shook her head no. "Tihana… no. That one doesn't fit you either."
Hours passed since the one-sided conversation about the figures and now Florin paced the room, trying to think up a name for her. She kept shaking her head no because none of them seemed to fit. He carried around a book in his hands, his eyes focused on the passages in the book as he walked. She could only watch since her leg still hurt, but it felt better. Florin stopped right in front of her, eyes narrowed on her form. She shifted a little, feeling embarrassed before she tore her gaze away to look at the wall.
"Irini," Florin said, drawing her gaze up to him. "I think that is a suitable name for you. What do you think?"
Her eyes widened before a bright smile lit up her features. She gave an exaggerated nod, her hands clasping in front of her. Irini. To her, it became the perfect name. Warmth bloomed in her chest she did not expect, and tears welled up in her eyes. How is something as simple as having a name made her happy? As she accepted the name, Irini continued to beam at him before reaching up to wipe at the tears rolling down her cheeks. When she realized she did not understand the source of her tears, she kept on smiling, unable to contain her glee.

Florin glanced up to find fresh tears rolling down her cheeks. Despite the tears, the smile on her face brightened the room. This made him wonder. How were the humans being treated now? Unfortunately, his connection to the outside world, her, did not have her memory. Florin sighed before giving her a smile and leaning over to wipe her tears. How old is she? What is her proper name? What about her family? Right now, none of these questions would receive answers. A tap on the window drew his gaze over to the bird sitting there. Another unexpected visitor. Bound around the creature's ankle, a cord holding a scroll.
Pulling the cord to loosen the scroll, Florin's eyes wandered from the minor task back to the woman on the bed. Though he could sense her happiness at the name he selected for her, part of him felt curious as to her proper name. As he unfurled the note, familiar handwriting came into view, which only caused him to roll his eyes in frustration. Just how long has it been since he heard from this person. His 'brother' that took everything from him, even the friends he attempted to keep safe? To keep his thoughts secret from his new companion, his eyes read over the message's contents.
'Brother,
Long has it been since we last spoke. The woman should have appeared on your island today, something to your tastes, I'm sure. She is eighteen, the prime of her species, and the last of the Anomalii. I hope that as a gift from me, this will cause you to see fit to return. Our people are suffering, and you are the only one that can pull them from this pit of despair. As the rightful ruler of our kind, you are our only hope. We cannot last much longer without your wits to save us. Please come home and bring back glory to our people. You cannot wallow in your hideaway forever, you know. Not without proper sustenance.
With Love,
Xander'
Florin ground his teeth at the words on the paper before balling it up and throwing it into the fireplace. So, the girl is their sacrifice, then. Should he tell her the truth then? That he is not human but a monster that could break every bone in her body, one at a time? Or that her blood smells delicious and that he would like to sample it? One bite and the agent in his fangs would have her drowning in ecstasy and have his entire body on edge. The need for sex would be far too grand for either of them to resist. Just thinking about it already caused his body to harden in anticipation.
He glanced over his shoulder to meet her curious blue eyes and winced. It has been a long time since he tasted the blood of a human, especially one as young and beautiful as she. Florin could already see her blonde hair spread out in a halo behind her, her mouth parted in perpetual desire while her body accepts him fully. To snap him from the trance, he found himself in; he bit his lip, his fangs already extended and made his way to the door. To avoid questions, he did his best to hide the fact that his body reacted naturally to his building desire to sample her flavor.
"I'm going to hunt for some more food. I already put some more water next to the bed," He stated gruffly. "And if you're not thirsty, try to rest. That wound will feel much better with you staying in bed."
She nodded, and he walked out of the cabin, doing his best to not slam the door behind him. Sure, as the monster he is, sleep is not a major requirement, so her taking the bed is no problem. But the notion of her under him, her lips parted, body sweaty, Florin needed to stop the delicious thoughts curling through his mind. First, a dive under the waterfall to cool his bloodlust, then he would see if anyone else turned up on the island. After that, one boar would further quench that thirst. That should give him plenty of time and work to do to get the naughty thoughts out of his mind.
