Chapter 40 - Legilimency

Due to what had just happened Snape would also ask Julius to stay back after the lesson ended to have a word with him after Julius was late to class, which Snape only ignored because he was a Slytherin and usually his best student by a large margin, one of the few he didn't loathe teaching. Not that he ever actually said so out loud of course.

But after being late he did not only stand out by talking during class but also by his unusually poor performance (he had stirred a bit too quickly, resulting in a slightly lower quality) so Snape felt obligated to at least talk to his favourite student.

"Mr. Abraxus, would you be so kind as to enlighten me as to the reason of your poor performance during class?"

Having already gotten used to Professor Snape's rudeness Julius responded as polite as he usually would, not that Snape would even be much nicer when Julius performed perfectly.

"I am very sorry Professor, I had to stay back in Defense due to an offer from Professor Crown to help me with a field I am interested in and I couldn't wait to tell my friends about it. It won't happen again."

Snape stared at him with his usual sullen look for a moment before finally dismissing him into his lunch break in which he no doubt would have to talk to explain more to his friends as Snape interrupted them quite quickly an the two obviously wanted to know if they were in trouble now.

...

As there was of course nothing of the like and his friends quickly calmed down Julius was then able to take his time explaining how he just got a top class auror to teach him legilimency.

But while Habol was very interested in this, it even got to a point where Julius began to doubt if he should have told him about it as he saw a flash of hunger in his eyes, Lia wasn't exactly all that pleased despite the obvious benefits someone in her position would gain by learning to read even just emotions.

Still she seemed to have quite the distate against the mind art.

But before the three could talk more about the topic, the lunch break ended and they had to go to their last two classes they would have that day.

...

Later that day the three of course also attended the Halloween feast with the rest of the school, for once even Lia enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the great hall together with her friends instead of hiding her face inside of a book she probably shouldn't be bringing to public places.

To celebrate the occasion they even all drank at least a bit of pumpkin juice, something none of them could actually enjoy during any other day of the year.

Especially Habol usually thought the beverage to be disgusting and always used it to make fun of British culture in general and the British wizarding society's in particular.

He didn't seem the latter and though he had never talked about it before Julius guessed it was probably because of its structure that still granted the purebloods much higher authority than everyone else but even gave halfblood from a muggleborn and a muggle preferential treatment if compared to new members of the society, making any start a hard one and everyone's first experience a bad one.

At least for most that was.

Theia Corporation had not only helped adult muggleborn to find a job after all, but it had also created the Hebe Foundation for Young Wizards and Witches which supported those with many options to get to learn more about the magic society around the globe, specifically aiding young talents in specific fields in their growth.

Only this would of course not change all that much but it could at least soften the blow and ease especially muggleborn but also halfbloods the entry into the magic world, and of course the opening up of the British wizarding community as well as Hogwarts' also made the situation much better as the bullying from pureblood brats had significantly lessened since they could potentially embarass their family in front of the whole world if the wrong things were recorded with a mirror and shared on the mirror net.

...

A bit less than a week later, Julius and his friends were currently hurriedly packing up their things after a DADA lesson to finally witness the first Quidditch game of the season, which had been put on a school day for some reason even though there had been plenty of opportunities to hold it on any other day, as the Professor Crown called Julius back right as he wanted to follow his friends which were already waiting at the door since he had taken a bit longer than them.

"Just go without me for now, I will try and find you in the stands", Julius quickly saw them off so they wouldn't have to wait and possibly have trouble getting a good seat, or well, rather a good viewing point, to ge seats probably wouldn't be easy to do if they wanted to get a good view of everything.

After the two had eagerly taken off and Julius had turned towards her the Professor adressed him in a serious voice:

"As you've probably guessed I've received the letter from George about your tutoring and as you probably already now he agreed. So if you haven't had a change of mind you can visit me in my office every monday after lessons are over, I hope you will prove to be as responsible as George makes you out to be. And with that I don't want to keep you from the game you seem so eager to watch. Hufflepuff against Gryffindor I believe, I almost feel sorry for the poor badgers... anyways, have fun."

Saying his goodbyes Julius quickly left the room, now not only excited for the upcoming match, but also for the next monday.

Seems I finished the chapter sooner than I expected this time, but don't expect the next upload that quickly, I used far too much time I should have used on learning for this.

Thanks for reading and until next time :)
