"You will pay for this!", the man shouted to Mordred and Lily who got alarmed at the rapid vanishing of Alab. Their attacks hit a void as they turned at the man in the coat.
"I see, so you are still alive, huh? Tusk", Lily uttered as the Hydra with a liquified physique with steam excreted from its boiling body of purple venom stood behind her. The [Hydra] is an SSS-grade quadrupedal monster with three heads and giraffe-like necks. Its venomous fangs dripped with burning venom that melt the concrete floor it fell into.
Mordred glanced at Tusk as he held the hilt of his sword with both hands. His eyes burned with determination to kill Alab as his dry lips uttered.
"As I thought, he is the son of that traitor, isn't he?", he muttered as he sneaked a glance at Alab beside Tusk, still dumbfounded by the sudden turn out of events.
Tusk extended his hand as he touched Alab. The space around Alab began to fluctuate, and a cylindrical portal with the other side consisting of nothing but a void appeared behind Alab.
Upon witnessing this, Mordred instantly tapped his feet on the ground as he dashed forward. His sword emanated killing intent as he brandished it upwards.
Before he could reach Alab, a violent suction from the portal pulled Alab and Hiraya inside as they once again vanished from the area.
Met with nothing but an empty space, Mordred gazed at Tusk that was just right a meter beside him. His sword could decapitate Tusk any moment now but Mordred didn't do it as he needed to find out the location of Alab.
"Where did you bring him", he asked with his face impatience for an answer.
Tusk flashed a smirk as with a mumble, he disappeared from the area in a blink of an eye. The space fluctuates and Mordred's sword hit nothing but void again.
"Don't you feel remorse attacking your friend?!", Tusk muttered as he appeared meters behind Mordred. The spectators in the area had started to evacuate the area as a large-scale fight between SSS-grade Captains was about to transpire.
They fled with their tails between their legs as they hid in far buildings, just enough to avoid the collision and also, the best spot in witnessing this phenomenal fight.
Mordred replied, "If it means terminating doom, I won't hesitate to brandish my sword even at the neck of my family", he spoke rather dignifiedly
Lily glanced at Mordred with contempt as she couldn't believe that he dared to attack Alab with Hiraya close to him. Just now, she was certain that had Alab not avoided the blow, that attack would produce a shockwave that could endanger Hiraya's life.
"You!!! You better not hurt Hiraya, else I would kill you myself", she shrieked as she locked her gaze with Mordred.
Mordred on the other hand broke their eye contact as he shifted his gaze to Tusk that was meters ahead of them, just right in their center, forming a triangle position with Lily and Mordred on base and Tusk at the tip.
"Silly girls should not join the fight between men", Mordred uttered without peering at Lily.
This caused the latter to boil with madness as she let out.
"You!!", turning her gaze at Tusk, she uttered.
"I'm not in the mood to hold back, do me a favor and bring that son of the traitor here, okay?!", she shouted as steam seemed to exit her head. Though enraged, she didn't want to spark a war with Sword Saint Guild thus she could only direct her rage to Tusk.
Hearing the word "Traitor", Tusk similarly fell into fury as the space behind him started to fluctuate erratically.
"TAKE THAT BACK, HE IS NOT A TRAITOR!", he exclaimed as he exaggeratedly opened his mouth, bending his body from madness, he extended his trembling hands as he controlled the space around them.
A large portal appeared ahead of Mordred as he also decided to attack Tusk. With his momentum and the strong suction force, he was pulled into the portal that appeared out of nowhere as he then got transmitted behind Lily, his sword carrying momentum that couldn't be stopped for a second.
Lily commanded her Hydra to spew a blast of venom when she felt an imminent strike coming from behind her. Raising her hand, a turtle appeared just right between her and Mordred. A defeaning nerve-wracking sound echoed in the area as the tip of Mordred's sword collided with the turtle's shell.
It was a close call that made Lily surge with madness again.
"Forget the nonsense friendship, if you really aim to take our Guildmaster's head, then I will have to kill you here before that could even happen", Tusk exclaimed as he once again waved his hand to the right side.
The space became turbulent as Lily and Mordred stood with vigilance, not knowing where the attack would come from or what would happen next. This was the terror of space-related abilities.
Beside Mordred, Lily spoke as she hid in between her tamed monsters.
"Space-related abilities consume high mana, it won't last long before he became depleted of mana", she uttered as Mordred just brushed her off with his words.
"I know that, silly girl", he replied as his eyes remained vigilant on the surrounding.
Lily blushed red from embarrassment as she only meant to inform him a little. They were fighting a common enemy and had the same goal of killing Alab after all. But she didn't expect to receive a such reply from him. Alas, he even called her a silly girl!
"I'm a grown-up woman! Okay?! And I'm not silly! Old guy", Lily retorted as she made sure to insult him with the "Old guy" alias.
However, her insult rebounded to her again as Mordred remained unfazed. He didn't even bother looking at her as he skimmed the surrounding space.
"This idiot!", she mumbled as she finally restored her vigilance.
Mordred was not an old guy as Lily teased him. Though he looked old with his tall stature and buffed body, he is actually a 23-year-old man. Too young to be called old.
Tusk felt his mana being drained at blinding speed as he used his space manipulation skills. This type innately consumes a large amount of mana that the level 100 Tusk could only use for 10 times at most.
He had already used it for 4 times and was left with 6 shots.
Squinting his eyes, Tusk glanced at the two as he again manipulated the space. The space right in the blade of Mordred's sword blurred as it fluctuated. The next second, Mordred felt a clanging sound as the tip of his sword clashed with something on his back.
Turning his head, he saw the turtle standing behind him, on its shell was the blade of his sword that got connected by the space. It took him no time to realize that the blade was intended to strike him and Lily commanded her tamed turtle to block the sharp blade.
Without looking at Lily, Mordred retracted his sword as the space returned to its calm state. Lily felt her head turning numb as Mordred didn't even thank her!
"You!!", she muttered as she fumed with irritation
"That's the 5th time", Lily uttered as she then glanced at Tusk, watching out for his next attack.
A series of sweat was visible on Tusk's head as the skill took a toll on his body, much more precise space manipulation like earlier.
He then glanced at Lily who summoned another tame monster that came rushing forward right after. Tusk panted for air as their speed was too rapid and he was forced to use his skill to transport himself meters away, avoiding the onslaught.
"6th time", Lily counted as a smirk plastered on her face. Her plan was simple, since Tusk could only use his skill with limited times, she would use her tamed monsters to barrage him with attacks and drive him into the corner.
Her plan was successful as Tusk was forced to utilize his skill. Lily heard a hurrying sound as Mordred dashed to the right side, shortly after seeing that the space had fluctuated there.
Tusk was about to emerge from the portal when he saw Mordred dashing towards his direction. The latter had already seen through Tusk's skill.
Witnessing the tip of the blade imbued with skill as violent gust covered it, ready to pierce him once he emerges, Tusk hastily use his skill again as he transported himself the farthest distance possible.
Panting for air for the nth time, Tusk emerged from the portal that was 50 meters away from the two. That was the maximum extent that his skill could cover.
Tusk fixed his stance as he let out a ragged breath. He had already consumed 7 out of 10 uses of his skill. Lily and Mordred delighted at this as they glanced at Tusk who was looking at them fiercely. It was obvious from his erratic drawing of air into his lungs that he was close to exhaustion.
"Is this the strength of the Captain of Necromancer Guild? Aint this too weak?", Lily insulted as she brushed her shoulder, depicting that dealing with Tusk was as easy as breathing.
Tossing wood in the flame, Mordred added.
"Weak", he teased which surprised Lily. She then threw another insult to support Mordred.
"Why are you not using other skills? Is it possible that you haven't awakened any skill other than basic space manipulation?", Lilh mumbled and as she intended, Tusk grew enraged upon hearing her words. A vivid memory resurfaced in his mind as shadows of men threw mockery towards him, calling with the nickname " Simpleton".
He had been awakened for 5 years now and he had only awakened one skill which was the default skill of his title, basic space manipulation.
It would be an understatement to call him a "Simpleton".
Tusk breathed erratically as the misery from the past resurfaced, with his hand extending to the side, he shouted with all his breath as he used his skill to create a large portal ahead of the dashing Mordred.
As he had learned his lesson earlier, Mordred evaded the portal as he shifted his body to the right, his feet stepped into the air as he used his skill [Air step]. But when he thought that he had successfully avoided Tusk's attack, a large portal awaited at the same spot he moved into.
Tusk had created a portal side by side, with the other emerging a second after the latter as he speculated that Mordred would evade the first portal. Mordred's body was then transported meters away as his blade covered by gust pierced effortlessly into soft flesh.
Bewildered, Lily watched as her tamed turtle got stabbed by Mordred's sword. A traumatizing pain assaulted her body as she felt her connection with the turtle being severed.
Falling to the ground, the lifeless turtle met its end as Lily dropped to the ground, her hand clutching her chest as she felt countless swords piercing her heart.
"I'm sorry…", Tusk muttered upon seeing Lily drop to her knees. Using his remaining mana, Tusk transported himself away from the circular platform.
Mordred stood in a daze as he watched Tusk vanished like a pricked bubble. Shortly after, he left the area as he returned his sword to its scabbard.
