The old man looked at Max for a moment and then looked at the manager which was sweating bullets right now. He got the point that he was fucked. The old man turned around to Max again and said: "What is your name young alchemist?"
Max answered: "My name is Max."
The old man looked at the flask that was made by Max and asked again: "Did you do this potion?"
Max did not lose his cool and answered to the old man: "I did this potion here in front of this piece of shit and Vanessa. Vanessa did pay attention, but he did not. He only started to look at the potion after seeing the result of 64,5."
The old man looked at the manager sternly and asked: "Is this true?"
The manager knew he had no way back, so he just nodded while looking defeated on the ground. The old man started to shout at the manager after a short time: "You piece of shit! Not only you did a prank on an alchemist with huge potential, but you also even not pay attention to the product he did! You are fired and added to the blacklist of the association! Now fuck off!"
The manager tried to say something, but after feeling the magic elements around starting to go out of control, he knew he better leave quickly. He did try to plot against a future master alchemist which showed his skill already. The manager knew he falsified this procedure of making a potion to show the qualification to take the master alchemist test that was something not needed for the test of a master alchemist. After a short time, the manager left.
The old man turned to Max and gave a bow with words of apology: "I am sorry for this incident alchemist Max. The manager will be punished severely. As for your test. There is a price to pay for the test, but you will get it for free as an apology from our academy. I need to call four more alchemist masters to be witness to you making a potion with high efficiency of at least 8 times higher than the low-level alchemical product of the same level. From what I see here you will pass the test easily. I am sorry but you will have to make another potion when we gather the master alchemists. I would be glad to witness another potion of such level made. You can take the potion you made to yourself, and I will do my best to give you a good alchemical lab until the relevant people will arrive. By the way my name is Adam and I'm a master alchemist as well and the protector of the alchemy peak of the Starlight academy. I hope your stay at our academy and the alchemy pavilion will be pleasant. If you need anything just let me know. I will arrange your accommodation in the alchemy pavilion shortly."
Max sighed and asked: "How much time it will take to gather all the relevant people?"
Adam took a little time to think and said: "It should be around a month of two. Those people are busy and it's hard to make them come together."
Max sighed and nodded. Before he could ask anything, else Adam continued: "As a future alchemy master it is advised to take at least one apprentice to inherit the skills of a real master. Do you have such students? Do you want me to recommend you some?"
Max was dumbfounded. He did not finish the test, and this guy was already pestering him about some stupid shit. He did not want to be a dick, so he just went in the most primitive way he found. He said: "Well if this is a thing then I would just teach Vanessa. I am pretty sure she will get to a level of alchemist quickly. As for alchemy master. She does have what it takes to get there, but I'm not sure about her talent to the craft."
Adam was surprised now. The guy picked a girl that was more of a plaything than something else to study under him. He did not take what he heard seriously for sure. It was sad. Adam desperately tried to make ties with this talent. He knew that the alchemy pavilion fucked up real time. This guy had the potential to become a grandmaster alchemist. Adam knew this person will get the master title easily. He was not sure if Max could make products to get a mage to a high mage. If he could than it was enough to make him a grandmaster right away. Adam knew that if this guy was even only a master alchemist his potions were on another level. To make such a person an enemy was a suicide even to the Starlight academy. Even such giant can have many troubles if an such alchemist will be ready to pay the right price.
After making a sigh the old man turned to Vanessa with her trainee outfit and told her seriously: "I see that you are only a trainee right now. You have huge luck young miss. Please work hard. It is one in a lifetime chance for you. Do not waste it!"
Vanessa was still dumbfounded, but she nodded and said: "Master Adam I will do my best!"
The old man nodded with satisfaction with the answer and attitude of this young lass.
After this exchange Max got a big alchemy lab all to himself and a luxurious apartment at the same floor of the pavilion. Everything there was VIP level from what Vanessa knew.
After setting in his new apartment Max asked Vanessa: "Do you really want to study alchemy? I did say it to the old man to get him off me, but if you want, I can really teach you to a level of an alchemist in a short time. As for alchemist master level it is really up to you."
Vanessa lowered her head and asked: "Can I really become an alchemist?"
She knew she did what Max wanted in bed and was a good guide as a bonus, but to become an alchemist was something totally different. She did not know if that what she wanted, but if she could she would prefer to be an alchemist and then to ask herself again if this really what she wanted or not.
Max saw that she finally did show a vulnerable side of her for the first time and simply said: "Yes you can. You have pretty good natural talent because of your fire affinity, but to become an alchemist you will have to put the work in. If you are ready than I can teach you. I can assure you that you will get to a level of an alchemist before I get my master alchemist title if you do your part. It is more up to your hard work. If you agree I will teach you, but don't spread the information of what you studied outside. Also, If you study from me and become an alchemist you will have to produce the products that I need. I will buy them from you at a fair price. Only after that get orders from outside. If you agree we will make a magic contract, and you can start study from today."
Vanessa looked up at Max and said with a serious tone: "I agree."
