Chereads / A Vampire Knight's Destiny / Chapter 4 - Strenght Test, Attacked

Chapter 4 - Strenght Test, Attacked

The strength test this time involved a square metal block, with each block arranged in ascending order of weight. Every block had a lighting bar, and the students had to lift it up to their chests to complete the training, corresponding to the weight of the block.

The weights were as follows:

-3200 pounds

- 3500 pounds

- 3800 pounds

- 4000 pounds

Each student took turns lifting the blocks. The average weight lifted by a student was 3200 pounds. Most of them chose to challenge themselves and increase their weight, while a small number gave up or stuck to their limits as some never had the chance to lift heavy before.

"Luke!"

"3200 pounds."

"Alex, next."

Alex walked up to the 3500-pound metal block, glancing back at Chase with anger in his eyes. He grabbed the metal bar with both hands and tightened his muscles. Slowly, the metal block lifted off the ground, shaking a bit before stabilizing as it reached closer to his chest.

"3500 pounds."

"Boom!"

Alex let go of the metal block, causing it to make a loud noise and crack on the ground. He walked back with a satisfied smile on his face, with a arrogant look on his face at Chase.

"Ava!"

"Do the amount you know you can, I believe in you" Chase said to Ava.

Ava nodded and headed towards the 3200-pound block. She grabbed the handlebar, and the block slowly lifted off the ground. Despite its instability, she managed to lift it off the ground.

"3200 pounds."

"Boom!"

Ava quickly returned to Chase.

"I knew you could do it," Chase said, In his mind, she possessed incredible speed but lacked the skill for heavy lifting.

"Chase, next!"

Hearing his name, everyone looked at Chase again. There was curiosity about whether Chase could pass the strength test after his impressive speed test performance.

Chase walked up to the 3800-pound metal block. Alex stared at him coldly, taunting him about being able to lift more weight.

Different people had different physical strengths. While some excelled in speed, others were better in strength. For Chase, physical training was everything, and with the system, he had the perfect physique.

Chase positioned himself behind the metal block, separated his legs, and firmly grasped the metal bar with both hands. He tightened his grip and muscles, rounded the bar, and then lifted it up.

Under the watchful eyes of Freya and the other students, the metal block slowly rose upward from the ground. It wasn't the fastest lift, but it was stable, eventually reaching Chase's chest level.

"How is it possible? His strength has increased so much since the assessment," Alex exclaimed in shock, he thought why is this peasant so much stronger than him when he was given material to get stronger?

"Boom!"

"Chase is really strong," another student commented, impressed by Chase's feat.

Chase let go of the metal block, causing the ground to crack and creating a loud sound. Alex's eyes turned red with rage, feeling that his spotlight had been stolen.

"For the next two months, we will focus solely on physical training," Freya announced to everyone.

Two Months Later.

After two months of rigorous exercise, Ava and Chase had grown stronger. Ava's strength increased to 3400 pounds, and her speed improved to 35 seconds in a 1000-mile run. Chase's strength increased to 4000 pounds, and his speed improved to 33 seconds in the same run. It became evident that Ava was more inclined towards speed, so she mostly focused on exercises to enhance her agility, with those training chase strength, agily increased by 2.

Excitement filled the air as everyone heard Freya's words.

"Finally, a break!"

"We haven't had any rest for the past four months."

"Hey, how about we explore the city together? I know a fun place."

Chase and Ava started walking back to their dorm, chatting with each other.

"What are you planning to do during the rest of the week?" Chase asked Ava, as he want to do something with her to get to know each other.

Ava put on a thoughtful expression.

"I'm not sure. What about you?" Ava replied, she has only been in the academy and their isn't much to do.

"I don't know either, but how about we explore the city together? I'm sure we can find something fun to do," Chase suggested.

"Alright, I'll come an meet you. We can explore together," Ava agreed, her voice filled with excitement.

"Great! Let's meet at the gate," Chase said, thinking of what to and where to go tomorrow.

After bidding each other goodbye, Chase and Ava headed back to their respective dorms to prepare for the next day.

The Next Day.

Chase stood by the academy gate, dressed in brown boots, brown pants, and a black shirt.

"Wow, who's that?"

"That's the peasant from elite class 1."

"She's really cute for a peasant."

As Chase waited, he overheard some students talking about him and turned to see who they were referring to, He saw Ava walking towards him, wearing a black short skirt, a brown corset, and a white shirt.

'She really does look cute.'

"Hi, Chase," Ava greeted him while playing with her hair, shy as she never been with a boy alone or anyone out of hometown.

"Hi, Ava. You look cute today," Chase complimented her, this the first other girl he encounter after coming to this world so he want to make friend with her and can kept on her good side.

"You look good too," Ava replied, her face turning slightly red.

Chase then reached out and took Ava's hand.

"Now, let's explore the city until we find something fun to do," Chase said to Ava as they walked out of the gate, hand in hand.

As Chase and Ava walked, students started whispering about them holding hands.

"Chase and Ava are holding hands!"

"Are they together?"

"I don't know, but let's follow them and see."

"Yeah lets go!"

Over the next few days, Chase and Ava explored the city, visiting different restaurants, and taverns, and encountering numerous nobles. As they walked through an alley, mindful of the nobles who didn't appreciate peasants, they suddenly came face to face with Alex and a few others blocking their way.

"Alex, what do you want?" Chase asked, a frown forming on his face.

Alex looked at Chase with a mocking smile. "Didn't I warn you? Inside the academy, Freya may protect you, but outside, you're on your own," he taunted.

Chase, instantly remembered what Alex told him on the training ground, but he didn't think he will actually go through with it But he still stood his ground and asked, "What are you going to do?"

Alex then drew a long steel sword from his side and pointed it at Chase. "I won't kill you, but I'll make sure you regret this," he said.

Chase stepped in front of Ava, shielding her. Ava tugged at Chase's clothes, her voice filled with anxiety. "Chase, we should leave," she pleaded, not landing Chase or herself to get hurt as it will delay their training progress.

"It seems the rumors were true," Alex sneered, thinking about what the student was walking and talking about Chse and Ava holding hands,

Intrigued, Chase asked, "What rumors?", as he don't know any rumors that is currently going around.

"You two dating, holding hands, eating at restaurants together, always exploring together," Alex revealed.

Ava shocked expression quickly turned red. Chase's voice rang out, defiantly declaring, "So what if we eat together and hold hands!"

"Enough talk. Give your sword to him," Alex ordered another student standing beside him.

The student threw his sword at Chase. Confused, Chase asked Alex, "What does this mean?" Chase thought, 'Can he just fight me? What if something happens to either of us, or we get caught?'

"I may be doing this, but as a knight, we have a code. Now get ready," Alex said confidently.

Ava stepped back, worriedly pulling on Chase's clothes. "Chase, what if you lose?" worried that Alex may do something bad that could endanger him.

"I won't believe in me," Chase said with confidence on his face.

As Chase's words sank in, Ava found herself oddly reassured, and she cautiously released his clothes, slowly stepping back. Despite her limited knowledge of Chase, an unexplainable sense compelled her to trust him.

Ava's anxiety eased a bit. "Okay, I believe in you," she said, her voice filled with hope.

"Alex, If Freya finds out about this, you will be punished and expelled," Chase said, in a warning tone.

"Don't worry that won't happen," Alex said with pride.

Chase decides to check Alex's stats.

Alex may be better at SwodsmanShip, but Chase had the better stats, meaning his has better strength an has chance of winning

Chase gripped the sword tightly with both hands and positioned it at waist level. He and Alex rushed toward each other.

"Clomb!, Clomb!"

The footstep of the two echoes from the ground through the alley, and each step making a slight tremor on the ground.

The sound of their footsteps echoed through the alley, making the ground tremble with each step. In the blink of an eye, they closed the distance between them, their swords clashing with a blinding light reflecting off the blades in the sunlight.

The fight seemed evenly matched, but in the next moment, Chase was pushed back several meters, regaining his balance. Their swords clashed like lightning in a storm, illuminating the alley with blinding flashes of steel.

"Chase!" Ava called out, worry evident in her voice.

"Hahaha!" Alex laughed mockingly.

Chase steadied himself and ran towards Alex once again, dodging a downward slash from his sword. Chase's movements were as swift and agile as a dancing flame, evading Alex's attacks with finesse.

Clang! Clang!

Almost at the same, both swords slashed toward each other with a blinding dazzling light reflecting from their blades from the sun.

Their swords clashed repeatedly, each time with intense force and speed. Chase either dodged or blocked Alex's slashes, not allowing his attacks to land.

"Why do you keep dodging?" Alex taunted, Alex's fury fueled his strikes, each swing of his sword resembling a roaring wildfire, fierce and untamed, from his short temper, arrogant behavior.

As Chase dodged yet again, he found himself with nowhere else to go. He was cornered against a wooden wall. Alex thrust his sword forward, but Chase managed to dodge it, causing Alex's sword to get stuck in the wood.

Chase's determination burned brighter than a thousand suns, pushing him to hold his ground against Alex's relentless onslaught. Seizing the opportunity, Chase kicked Alex in the stomach, sending him flying and knocking the wind out of him. Alex hit the wall on the opposite side of the alley.

"Ah!" Alex coughed up a mouthful of blood and was momentarily dizzy.

"How is that possible?" Alex muttered, his face contorted with anger.

Disentangling his sword from the wooden wall, Alex staggered to his feet and rushed towards Chase once more, slashing at him with ferocity and rage. His sword movements became erratic and uncontrolled.
