Asher suddenly heard the weird mechanical voice in his head along with excruciating pain that made him wish to commit suicide... And speaking of Suicide...

"The hell? It was the 15th floor for God's Sake! How can I still feel this damn pain?!" Asher thought inwardly fearing that he survived the fall.. Somehow.

Asher once again heard the voice in his head amid the darkness. He couldn't tell if he was in a dark place or if his eyes were closed. But he heard the sound in his head loud and clear.

"What? System? What is that? What's... Happe- happening..." Asher thought trying to make sense of whatever was going on with him.

However, he slowly lost consciousness thinking that it was just a fluke that he somehow survived and death had now finally taken him.

But he couldn't have been any more wrong. At that time, he was lying on a stretcher inside an ambulance.

The ambulance was present at the sight of an incident with a crowd of reporters and the police.

"Put him on IV! Monitor his heart rate and oxygen constantly." A nurse said as she quickly went through Asher's pockets hoping to find his ID.

After stretching her fingers in the pocket of his pants, she touched his wallet made out of leather. Without wasting any time, she quickly pulled it out and opened it hastily.

"Asher Hale... Student of the SJIT University..." The nurse muttered as she scrutinized his ID and noted down all his important information on a scrap of paper.

Her hands were covered in his blood which also dripped onto the paper.

"Strange, it was very low before but now his heart rate is stabilizing." The assistant nurse said while looking at the monitor.

The head nurse also glanced at the monitor in surprise and said, "He must be lucky,"

On the roads of Washington DC, the ambulance drove fast with a loud siren. About an hour later it finally arrives at the hospital.

Asher was brought into the emergency operation department as the hospital staff called his friend to inform the news of the incident.

He was covered in blood all over his body and his condition seemed to be in a critical state. The doctors first got his X-ray and performed some other medical tests, then the nurses wiped all the blood from over his body and had him ready for the operation.

The operation lasted for two hours and Asher was finally deemed in a safe condition. He had multiple fractures, bruises, and a very close call with the chest wound.

When he slowly opened his eyes, Asher found himself in a hospital bed wrapped up in bandages. He truly looked like a mummy.

The storage thing was that he felt very uncomfortable in his own body, he was confused and had no idea what was happening.

As far as he knew, he fell from the 15th floor and then heard a mechanical voice in his head. Then he fell unconscious again which he mistakenly assumed to be his death.

Asher sat straight on the bed as he looked around the hospital room. However, when his eyes went past the window, he abruptly got the biggest shock of his life as he looked at the black-colored glass window again, this time his eyes widening from what he saw.

On the window's glass, he saw the reflection of himself. The bizarre thing was that the face he saw on the glass was not the one he knew as his own.

Asher was stunned by the oddity and reflexively moved his hand from over his face to feel if anything was wrong, but it only resulted in a sharp painful sting.

"Agh! Damnit!" Asher cursed.

As he moved his head rapidly in pain, his sight came upon the small side table beside the bed on which a wallet he did not recognize was placed.

He grabbed the wallet, opened it, and saw the ID on which his name was written with a photo. The photo had the same face he had seen a moment ago, the face that was foreign to him.

He turned his head toward the window again and saw the same face that was in the photo.

"I... Died... But somehow I'm in someone else's body who has the same name as me. Is that right?" Asher muttered looking at his reflection and the ID simultaneously.

Just as he was getting used to the weird reality, his head suddenly began hurting like crazy as if it would explode at any time.

"Ahhhh!" Asher screamed while holding his head as the memories of the owner of the body he was occupying flooded his mind.

Hearing his screams, the nurses came running in panic and asked, "Hey?! What happened?"

"Aghh! My. Hea- MY HEAD!!" Asher yelled as he instinctively tried to get off the bed trying to escape from the excruciating pain.

"Hold him!" The head nurse said as she hurridly prepared a dose of injection with sleeping drug and jabbed it straight into his nerves.

The chaos finally seized as Asher once again fell asleep and the nurses heaved a sigh of relief.

"Everything seems to be normal, what the hell happened? Fetch the doctor... We will perform some tests just in case," The nurse said as she looked at the beeping health monitor.

Everyone left and shortly after the doctor returned. He checked Asher's condition once again and performed various tests once again but everything came out normal.

"It must be a panic attack because of sensory overload. He's fine otherwise," The doctor diagnosed and left after scribbling down some medicinal doses for Asher in very bad handwriting.
