Naitee
He's staring at me like he wants to eat me and I'm staring right back. Trying to figure out how a man so beautiful and calm can be a coldblooded killer. His eyes are the only thing about him that doesn't look normal. They're so dark that it's almost like looking into the deepths of hell and for some reason I'm not even afraid to fall in. I've lost it. When I get to New York and Luce is safely locked in a guarded room I'll ask Ross to scream at me until I'm normal again.
Luce keeps asking weirdly specific questions about me, Kate, and my family. I don't give him an inch though. I answer without hesitating and ask questions right back. The thing is I think he's actually telling the truth, he has no idea of who I am or that I know who he is. It's almost sad to look at him smile when I know what I'm going to do tonight.
The waitress who stared at Luce like he had unicorns coming out of his ass set the food down on the waxed table. My stack of pancakes were steaming and I moaned in anticipation.
"I was thinking that I were going to make you moan in another way Caramella. But this works to." I slam my fork down and look up at him. His lips are pursed in an attempt to hide a grin.
"You think you're so fucking funny huh?" Luce nods slowly as he chews on a fry.
"Yes." I laugh because the situation is just so funny. I press a hand against my lips in a attempt to stiffle my laughs.
"You're going to start with the one worded answers again?" He grabs another fry and says,
"No." Before popping it in his mouth. I laugh again and somewhere in the back of my min I think 'this is the worst part of undercover, actually liking parts of people you know are horrible'. But I don't let it fester in there. I banish it, it won't help me now. Instead I laugh and ask Luce vague questions to make me learn more about him.
As it turns out he's here in the states, with his buddies that we left in Atlanta, to close a businessdeal with some new companies. The deal that is supposed to bring in a lot of new business and money. So the Italian mafia is in the states to make a deal. With one of the smaller gangs here? I had no idea but I'm sure Ross does. He always knows everything.
"Aren't you going to finish your food?" Luce asks and I look down theres one and a half pancake left aswell as a baconstrip.
"No, I never eat more when I'm full. You can eat it if you wan't" I push the plate forward and it's gone in a second. I stare in chock, he still looks as perfect as before. No sign that he ate a huge burger, fries and a pancake.
"I have to admit it this is much better than I thought when you drove in here" I just nod. Staring in to his face and trying to decipher if there's really a monster hiding behind that perfect mask.
"Do I have something on my face Caramella?" I bite my lip and look away.
"No you're fine. You know what I have to use the restroom before we leave. You can go out and let Sai out of the car, she needs some air. I'll pay on the way out so it's fine you just leave." He nods looking a little confused. I drop the keys to my beloved car on the table. I've had it for three years now. Ever since i graduated college when I was 22. It's the last thing I have from my parents and I'm trusting it to a criminal. Good job Naitee. You're not at all crazy.
The restroom is thankfully empty and I pick up my phone. A new text is waiting for me.
The hotel chain is owned by the Spaglia Familia. It's one of their "legal" businesses. The eldest son is Alessio Spaglia, he's believed to be in his late twenties and sounds alot like your man / R
I feel ill. Like my insides decided to start taking gymnastic classes.
Ok we're 4 hours away from NY. How do u want containing t.g? //Kate
Ross answers in seconds and I feel like he's been sitting, staring at his phone screen waiting. But I know better than that.
Take him out for dinner and b carful. I'll know where u r / R
Take him out to dinner? Is he kidding? I've done alot of things undercover but never actually taken someone out for dinner for the single reason of containgen them. I flush the toilet and wash my hands quickly. When I try to pay the woman at the desk tells me Luce already paid.
"Did he know?" I grit my teeth and walk out to face a smiling Luce. Sai is sitting by his feet, her tung hangin out in a dog grin. I think Luce really can't read animals. Sai loves him but he seems to think that she's going to eat him slowly and then play with his bones.
"I told you I was gonig to pay" I shout halfheartedly. Luce just shakes his head. I greet Sai before him, petting her and giving her scratches.
"Who's my good little girl." I say my voice higher than usual. "Not Luce, no hes bad, bad. Right Sai?" She barks at the sound of her name and I smile.
"Keys." I hold a hand up without looking at him and he drops them in my hand.
I walk for only fime minutes with Sai. Only enough so that she has time to pee and play around a little. Luce follows us talking to himself like a stroke victim. I give him one worded answers but he doesn't seem bothered. I just think about what I'm going to do tonight.
"Come on Caramella let me drive. I don't want to be a passenger princess anymore." I shake my head even though I was actually planning to let him drive for an hour or two.
"No." He turns walking backwards so he can face me.
"Please, I'll even drive the speed limit."
"No." He gives me a look and smiles slowly.
"What if I drive and you sit in my lap Caramella?" I clench my fist, the urge to hit him just a little to powerfull.
"Hell no. Sure you drive just keep your hands off me." He smiles and it's brighter than the sun. It's like he's trying to convince me he's a perfect golden boy. Even though I know he's everything but.
"I could kiss you right now Caramella." He stops suddenly and I walk right into him. He steadies me with his broad hands and I breath out a agitated breath. He bends toward me and one of his hands holding my face.
"Can I kiss you?" His voice is so low that I barely hear it. I just nodd and his mouth crashes'down on mine. A second ago I would've shoved him away but it felt oddly right for some reason. Atleast I had enough sense too only let it last a few seconds before I pull away.
"That was great." He almost sounds amazed and I shrug.
"It was alright." I say that even though it was the complete opposite. I've never experienced something like that before. He looks offended before a second before he laughs. I walk past him to the passenger seat of the car.
"Catch!" I throw the keys into the air and he reaches up to grab them. Just far enough for me his shirt to rise and expose the small of his back. Where his gun is neatly placed. I still and a ice cold chill runs through me. That's the reminder I needed of who I actually was in the pressence of. Alessio Spaglia, the eldest son of the leader of the Italian Mafia. The Mafia known for their brutal enforcing of laws and weapons trade.
As I sink into the seat of my car one thing becomes clear. I can't let this man come any closer to me.
