Chereads / Her White / Chapter 8 - Meeting.

Chapter 8 - Meeting.

White closed the book in his hand and let out a sigh as he looked out the window of his study. The trees being the only thing surrounding him swayed in the direction the wind blew.

"It's pretty windy today," He muttered and looked back at the study room. "Right?"

The big room fell silent once again. He placed the book in his hand on the table as he couldn't concentrate. He hadn't been himself since the day Lynn saw him in his wolf form.

He had accidentally fallen asleep right next to her. Her scent had made him feel relaxed so he'd planned to stay only for a while, but he had gotten too relaxed and had scared her. When she woke up, he could see the fear in her eyes. He could hear her heart race and for a bit, he was tempted to walk up to her and comfort her. Let her know he would never hurt her, but he couldn't. So he had to leave...as much as he didn't want to. Now he was back to see her from afar. His wolf has been feeling restless and for once they were on the same page.

He pushed his head back and his silky hair fell. Staring at the high ceiling, the gold trim caught his attention. There was nothing peculiar about it, it just caught his eyes. For a while, nothing went through his head. A minute passed and he was still staring at it. Then he suddenly remembered Lynn dancing in the studio and he shot up. He looked at his calendar to see if she had practice but his shoulder slumped disappointedly.

"No practice today." He said and let out a huge sigh. He wanted to get to see her dance again. He was never a fan of much, not even music. But he didn't mind it if Lynn was involved. He loved the way she moved so flexibly to the music. She could hit off any move and he thought it was pretty cool. Watching her made him happy, but sometimes he gets distracted by other things. He noticed Lynn loves to feel free when she's dancing, so she exposes more skin than usual...he had gotten used to seeing people dress that way– but when it came to Lynn he didn't like it.

He didn't want others to see her like that but he couldn't just walk up to her and make her cover-up. She was just gonna think he was weird.

He didn't want others to know just how appealing she could get. Her endowment and curves, when she puts up her hair and exposes her hot neckline. When she gets sweaty from practicing and the loose strands of her hair get wet, and her glances that could get anyone entranced and make them lose their sense of reasoning... every time.

He paused as he hadn't realized his fangs had snuck out.

"Ughhhh!" He groaned and he slumped down on the table as his growing desires were starting to get the best of him. "I miss her."

He would usually just go out to see her when he felt like this, but he couldn't do that anymore. Not after what happened. He got too careless, because he was always hanging around her they had mistaken her to be his mate when she isn't, and that had put her life in danger. So he swore to reduce how close he gets. Words travel fast, so he knew his father would have heard about the incident and most likely has sent someone to trail him. That was just his speculation,

But he couldn't be too careful.

He sat up and his white hair fell forward, going a little past his waist. He ran it through his fingers and as he stared at his hair, memories he didn't want to remember flooded in. As much as he wanted to get rid of the hair, he couldn't. It would just grow back instantly.

"This won't do. I need to clear my mind." He got up as he could feel his inside stirring up with anger.

Getting outside, the cool breeze felt his face. He sniffed the air and could pick up the faint smell of rain hidden by the bright yet soft rays of the sun. The weather was just perfect for a walk. He was going to stay out a little and get back before the rain showed itself.

That was the plan...

...but he somewhat ended up in Lynn's neighborhood. He sighed at his low self-control as his desires had gotten the best of him. He turned to leave when a necklace caught his eye. It stood ten feet away from him but he knew immediately it would look beautiful on Lynn. He went inside the mall and walked over to the heart angel wings rose flower pendant.

"Hello. What would you like me to get you?" The front attendant asked with a business smile and White pointed at the pendant through the glass. "Oh. You have a good eye for things. This must be for your girlfriend."

She said as she took out the pendant and placed the box on the glass for him to take a look. He loved the exquisite structure and elegance it had and he knew it would look good on Lynn.

"I'll take this." He said and she flinched at the tone of his voice.

"Oh." She snapped out of the trance his deep voice had put her in. "That would be 27dollars and 99 cents."

She noticed his face wrung up in distaste. Thinking he was just a high schooler who found the price on the high side, she said.

"A bit pricey? It's okay. We have other designs I'm sure you would love, and they're not on the high side. Would you like to take a look at them?" She asked and White looked at her.

He didn't think it was expensive but the other way around, and he wanted something more.

"Show me the others. The best you have." He said and she gave him a questioning look, not the low ones but the best? He could tell what she was thinking, he got the same reaction everywhere he went and there was always one reaction he would give back. He stuck his hand inside his pocket and took out his wallet. He took out and placed the black centurion card on the glass before looking back at her and repeating.

"The best you have."

The glimmer in her eyes changed as she stared at the card and she flashed him the biggest smile he'd ever seen.

"Right away sir." She said and picked up the landline to her ears. The phone beeped and she said "Front desk. Get me the best we have here in a minute."

"Alright." The receiver replied and she looked back at White with her smile plastered on her face. In less than a minute, a line of jewelry was lined up in front of him. He stared at every one of them and was quite pleased with the diamonds he was staring at as he thought they were worthy of being worn by Lynn.

"Pack them all up."

"Right away sir." She replied immediately as others came to pick up the boxes to be packed. He stared at the first pendant that had brought him in. Something about it drew him in. He wanted to get it but didn't know if Lynn would like it.

"Lovely isn't it?" He heard the desk lady say and looked up to see her staring at the heart pendant. " 'You are a flower in my heart, I will open my wings like an angel and always love you "

She quoted and smiled at him, a gentle one now. She took out the necklace once again.

"This necklace tells a deeper story than you think. And sometimes it isn't all about the price but the feelings and message they hold."

She slid it to his front and the stones glimmered. He couldn't help but accept the fact, he loved it.

"I'll take it," White said and she smiled.

"Excellent choice."

He walked out holding the bag in one hand and a piece of paper in the other. He had asked her to draw him directions to the bus stop. She had looked confused but she drew it either way. He knew he would get lost without directions. He kept the paper in his back pocket and started to walk away. He could imagine how beautiful the jewelry would look on her glossy skin. He smiled at the thought and he wondered what she was doing at the moment. Thinking about her made him feel like he could smell her. He loved her relaxing scent of lavender with the mix of chamomile, he loved it...but at the moment it made his brows furrow.

It smelt too close.

Almost like she was behind him.

"Hey!" A hand touched him and he looked back. The wind picked up and her ebony-black hair swayed along as his eyes met her rapture-grey eyes.

White hair, white brows, white lashes, pale skin yet ravishing, dreamy blue eyes, and a young stunning face.

'Illegal' was the first thought that crossed Lynn's mind. She'd never seen anyone pull off so much white without even trying. She would've thought the guy in front of her wasn't real if she didn't have his hand in her grip. He looked shocked and she wondered if she had gripped too tight.

"Sorry," she released his hand "I didn't mean to startle you. You dropped this."

She stretched the paper to him and she could tell by the look on his face that he hadn't realized he'd dropped it. He took the paper and their fingers grazed. His hand was cold. She looked at him and he stared back at him without uttering a word. She couldn't believe she still found his cold look dazzling.

"You're welcome." She said and turned to leave but she stopped in her track and looked back at him. "Didn't mean to pry but I saw you have directions to the bus stop. If that's where you're heading you're going the wrong way. The bus is this way."

She pointed behind her which was in the opposite direction of where he was going. She finally got a reaction from him as his brows furrowed and he looked at the paper in his hands. She was right.

He looked back at her and she thought he was quite the airhead if he could still mix up the route with such a direct description.

"Once again, you're welcome." She said with a smile and left. Getting back to the salon, Noel shot at her.

"Girl, where did you run off to?"

"Someone dropped something so I had to get it to him." She replied as she sat next to Noel. She faced Noel with a serious look and said "You know he was pretty weird. He had this pretty white hair, I wonder if he got it dyed?...but what was weird is I think he got his brows and lashes dyed too. Is that possible?"

"What are you talking about girl? Who on earth would try to dye their brows and lashes? That's plain suicidal."

"I know right?" She got up and went to the door to sneak a peep, he was still there staring at the paper. Lynn looked back at Noel "He's still here."

Noel curiously shot up and moved closer to Lynn. She saw the figure that stood out immediately and her jaw dropped.

"Weird right?" Lynn said and Noel stared wide-eyed at her.

"What do you mean weird? More like perfectly hot! I mean who on earth looks that sexy with a hoodie and sweatpants?! He looks so dreamy. You don't think he has a girlfriend do you?" She squealed excitedly and Lynn stared at him.

"How am I supposed to know that, I don't even know him. I guess he does look a bit handsome."

Noel's head shot back "A bit? Girl I hate to break it to you but Mr handsome over there could easily take down six of your Chris."

"Hey!" Lynn said and nudged Noel a little. They looked back at White and as Lynn stared at him amid others, something came to her. It felt like she'd seen a familiar scene before. Her brows furrowed as she looked closer at White.

Suddenly...

...it came to her.

The picture of a young boy standing in an unfamiliar corridor. He was dripping blood, and his white hair stained Scarlett red. He looked back and almost like he was speaking to her, he called out a name.

'Amanda.'*

"Shit!" Noel said as White looked in their direction and she hurriedly pulled Lynn back in. "Oh my gosh, I think he saw us"

She paused as she felt the hand in her hold had gone cold and was shivering.

"Hey. Why're your hands so cold?" Noel said as she took hold of Lynn's other hand which appeared to be in the same condition. She looked up at Lynn and froze at the sight of Lynn's face.

She had gone pale.
