Chereads / Her White / Chapter 15 - Girlfriend.

Chapter 15 - Girlfriend.

"Noel, I'm literally freaking out. I have nothing to wear!" Lynn said as she emptied out her drawer.

"Girl, calm down. You can't possibly say that when your room practically looks like a mall on its on," Noel said through the laptop screen rested on Lynn's desk drawer and she stared at the clothes hanging at every part of Lynn's room.

"I should've gone shopping," Lynn ran her fingers through her hair. She stared at the mess she'd created in her room and a green dinner gown caught her eyes. She pulled it over her body and asked "What do you think about this?"

"Hell nah, you're not going for a wedding party,"

"Too fancy right?" Lynn said with the scrunch of her face and threw it without a care of where it landed. She took a red knitted sweater and a black jean. "What about this?"

"Hmmm, honestly not feeling it,"

Lynn groaned as the clothes flew off again.

"Just look for something that says 'I'm trying but I'm also not', get it?"

She pulled up a white knee-length dress and gave Noel a questioning look.

"It's um... You know?"

"Yeah?"

"Something else," Noel said blandly and Lynn let out a sigh, then her face pulled up in a look of worry again.

"What about my hair, do you think I should trim my hair a bit?"

"Chill out Lynn! You don't even know where he's taking you yet. Now I'm wondering why you never even asked,"

"I was too excited to think about that,"

"What time does he get there?" Noel asked and Lynn stared at her alarm clock. She gasped out with wide eyes before screaming.

"In the next thirty minutes! I'm screwed," she jumped and shot off to get dressed.

"You're a hot mess Lynn," Noel sighed as she wondered how they'd spent two hours talking and picking out clothes.

Lynn spent the next few minutes getting dressed up. Curling the tip of her hair, she stood in a black off shoulder top and black ripped jeans, black ankle boots and a silver watch.

"How do I look?"

"Black," Noel teased with a bowl of cereal in her hand.

"Noel!" Lynn whined

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding, you look good," She rushed then her face scrunched up "but something's missing. Your neck is bare,"

"Oh," Lynn said as she hasn't noticed.

"Try on that necklace you got that other time,"

"Which one?"

"The one from the cute guy," Noel said with a creepy smile and Lynn shook her head at her before going to get the box from the drawer she'd kept it.

"I never got to thank him for this," Lynn said as she went back to stand in front of her laptop.

"True. I never saw him again after that time, not sure he stays around here though cause if he did there's no way we'd miss him,"

"Yeah," Lynn agreed as she raised the chain to her neck. Getting it locked, she straightened it on her neck and gave Noel a clear view of it. "What do you think?"

Noel dropped the bowl and clapped her hands proudly before saying "I'm so proud of me,"

Lynn chuckled "Get real girl,"

"You're good to go, and it fits so well I wouldn't believe if they told me they hadn't gotten it for you in the first place."

"I think it looks good too," Lynn said as she admired the chain on her neck. It felt so comfortable and for some reason, it gave her a source of courage. A smile curved up on her face and her mom's yell made her flinch.

"Lynn! Chris is here, hurry up."

"Oh my gosh he's here...coming!" She yelled back and Noel moved in closer to the screen.

"Girl you have to tell me everything that happened once you get back okay?"

"Sure, got to go," Lynn rushed

"Bye girl," Noel said and blew a kiss at Lynn who did the same before cutting off the video call. She straightened and took in a deep breath before swinging her door open. She went out to the living room to see Chris seated on their couch and her heart did a flip-flop dance. He looked so neutral and hot with his brown hair neatly combed, having on a grey sweatshirt, blue pants, and white sneakers.

"Hey," Lynn said as she tried to sound as neutral as possible. Hopefully, her shaky legs wouldn't give her off.

"Hey," He smiled as he got up. "Sorry for taking up your weekend,"

"It's fine!" Lynn said immediately as she stuck her hand in her back pocket nervously. His eyes observed and he said with a smile.

"You look good,"

"Oh, pfft. I just put on the easiest thing I had, no biggie," She shrugged as she could see from the corner of her eyes the weird look her mom was giving. "Shall we?"

"Sure," he replied and looked over at Mrs. Wayne "Thanks Mrs. Wayne,"

"Bye mom," Lynn said as they made their way out and her mom called out.

"Alright, don't stay out too late okay?"

"Sure,"

They closed the door behind them and she could see his Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid car parked in front. They made their way to it and he moved ahead before before pulling the door open for her.

"Thank you," Lynn said calmly as it took every ounce of her self-control to resist squealing. She got in and he closed the door softly before crossing over to the other side. She took a soft breath as she could feel her heart skipping, the car was filled with the scent of his cologne that she'd always loved. He got in the car and fixed his belt as she did the same, then he let out a sigh before looking at her and asking with a smile.

"You ready?"

She pursed her lips before answering "I would've said yes but I can't 'cause I don't know where I should be ready to head to,"

A confused look pulled up on his face and she cleared him up.

"You, never really said where we'll be heading out to,"

His mouth fell open as he realized the truth behind her words, his hand fell hard on his face. "Oh my gosh, so sorry. I swear I was going to text you after lunch that day but it skipped my mind,"

"It's fine," Lynn said with a smile as she told herself the tests must've gotten to him. "So where are we going?"

His hands fell off his face as he let out a soft sigh before saying "I actually wanted to tell you something but I also needed your help to pick out a gift, I didn't know what to get so I wanted to ask for your help. I know how cool your taste in things are so I thought you were the best I could ask,"

"Oh," Lynn said as she felt her face flush over the compliment "If that's what you think, I'll love to help out,"

Chris flashed her the brightest she'd ever seen and she knew her heart might be the end of her.

"I knew I could count on you," he said excitedly and give her hair a little ruffle before keeping his hands on the wheel. She blushed as she gently fixed her hair, she would've gotten mad if someone else had touched her hair in such a manner but who was she to get mad at Chris.

She was never giving her hair a wash after this.

They walked into the cafe as they both laughed their way in and got an empty table next to the glass wall.

"You should've seen her face," Chris said as Lynn cracked up non-stop. This was another reason she loved Chris, he was really fun to be around and there seemed to be no dull moment with him around.

"I wish I was there to see that," Lynn said between her laugher.

"You sure? Not judging though but I would've definitely loved to swap seats," he said with another smile and watched Lynn catch her composure. She caught him staring at her and she cleared her throat as she straightened on the chair.

"Sorry," she said

"What? No, it's fine. I'm glad I didn't turn out to be a bore...I also love seeing you smile like that, it's cute," he said while still maintaining eye contact with her and his voice that came out softly almost sounded like an invite to Lynn. A bashful smile escaped her lips as she pulled a little strand of her hair behind her ears.

"Thanks,"

His head fell as he chuckled, then he looked back up at her and said "Let me get us something to eat,"

"I'll come with you," she said as she gestured to get up but he stopped her.

"Nah it's cool. I already dragged you around for a long time, I can at least manage this on my own." He said with a funny look that made Lynn chuckle. He got up and went to the counter.

Immediately, Lynn took out her phone and dialed Noel who picked up after a ring.

"Hey girl! How's it going?" Noel rushed on the line excitedly and Lynn replied in a low tone while trying to look as casual as ever.

"I really don't know girl, we basically went shopping and he keeps giving me this signs that I'm trying so hard not to fall for but I had so much fun today that my heart is everywhere but then again I still feel so confused, he asked me to help him pick out a gift but so far we've only bought things he thought looked good on me, now we're about to eat out, I really don't know what to think anymore. I'm freaking out Noel!" Lynn rushed as she still tried to speak as low as possible.

"...You're loosing me girl," Noel said after a minute like she was giving it a thought "Sounds like a date to me, and if he's getting things of your style, could he be getting them for your birthday?"

"That's crazy, my birthday is still like two months away, though if we do look at it logically it's far away but also really close,"

"See? Also, why not just ask him,"

"He also said he had something to tell me,"

Noel gasped loudly "oh my gosh, could it be..."

Lynn noticed Chris give a nod to the guy behind the counter before he turned to make his way back to the table.

"Talk later, gotta go," Lynn said as she disconnected the call as naturally as possible before Chris got to the table.

"Our order should be here in a minute," he said as he sat down and she smiled at him.

"Oh, that's cool," she said with a smile and her eyes darted to the bags they had come in with. She loved helping him shop, but her curiosity totally topped her excitement.

Chris noticed her questioning eyes and a smirk escaped his lips.

"Curious?"

Her eyes darted back to him and she scoffed as she knew she couldn't hide it "A little. It's just a little weird how you suddenly decide to go shopping for things you can't ever use,"

The two of them laughed as he got what she'd meant. He'd only gotten things used by girls after all.

"Remember I said I had something to tell you,"

"Yeah, what is it?" She asked and her heart raced as she didn't know what to expect.

"Well remember how two weeks ago you guys kept teasing me about not having a girlfriend,"

Her brain stopped for a minute as she tried to remember how "they" had become "you guys". She remembered when the others had teased him but she hadn't joined in.

"Yeah, I remember. Why?"

"So like... there's someone I actually like" He shifted on the chair as he suddenly got all serious and Lynn could feel her heartbeat getting louder. He looked up at her with his cat shaped eyes and she swallowed. "I wanted you to be the first to know,"

"No way," the words slipped out of her mouth and a grin curved up his lips before he gave a nod. Her hands cupped her mouth as she could feel the heat of her face overflow.

"Are you...do you mean it,"

Then he dropped the bomb.

"Yeah...I got a girlfriend."

Silence blew past the two of them as the only noise was the music playing in the background, the sound of little chatters, and the sound of the bell. He raised his head at the sound of it as he stared behind Lynn and his face lightened up.

"She's here,"

Lynn's hand slowly fell as she was still trying to process what had just happened. Her lids wouldn't stop blinking in confusion.

Things weren't going in the direction she thought it would.

"Hey hottie," a voice approaching from behind her said and her head tilted a little as the voice sounded too familiar. The color red walked past her and made it's way to Chris and when Lynn finally had the courage to look up, she saw the blond haired human she'd had enough fill of at the dance studio.

"You made it," Chris said as the two got closer for a kiss on the lips and the nasty pair of brown eyes looked at her before a smirk pulled up on her face.

"Lynn, You probably know Kylee. She's my girlfriend,"

Kylee straightened as she shot Lynn an achieved smile before saying. "Hey Lynn. I see you've met my boyfriend,"

*****

Some minutes later, Where every one of the Wayne were busy with one thing or the other. The front door flung open and a huge slam of it followed through as they all flinched.

"What the hell Lynn? Would it kill you to close a door properly?!" Maddox yelled but he could tell immediately that she wasn't okay as she stormed up to her room and gave the house another wave shock with the slam of her door.

They all exchanged glances as Maddox got up with a confused look.

"What's up with her?" Kelvin asked and Maddox shrugged as he made his way to the front of Lynn's door. He was about to give it a slight knock and he flinched as he heard a loud bang come from the room. They all knew what was going on.

Kelvin sighed "Here we go again,"

The sound of a glass breaking followed and things clashed and crumbled as Maddox's hand fell back to his side as he wasn't ready to be a victim. He'd experienced it once and it was enough to get him traumatized. The door of the living room flew open once again and they saw a worried Noel. She looked like she'd run all the way as she held on to a papar bag in her hands.

"Where's Lynn?"

A loud scream came out from the room and they all froze.

The boys looking confused pointed in unison at once towards Lynn's room and Noel carefully shut the door behind her. She made her way to Lynn's and gave the door a slight knock.

"Bestie, you okay in there?" Noel asked softly as she tried to listen in for a reply but she didn't hear anything. They all went silent for a minute as Noel tried again.

"I got you your favourite ice-cream with chocolate blend,"

They went quiet again for a reply but then the door suddenly flung open as they all flinched. Lynn looked up at Noel who confirmed that she wasn't crying. She took the bag in her hand and shut the door again, quietly this time.

"She has quite the temper doesn't she?" Maddox said to Noel as he pointed at the door behind him and yelled out "You should've at least said thank you!"

"Well...yeah but - she's pretty bumped out right now,"

"What's wrong?" Maddox asked and Noel wasn't sure if she could tell him. He noticed the wary look on her face so he added "Don't worry, I won't tease."

She stared at him suspiciously before speaking in a low tone as she knew Lynn would kill her if she found out she told him "Turns out Chris already has a girlfriend, and she's from her dance academy. To top it all up he asked Lynn out today to help him pick up a present for her,"

"Oof," Maddox and Kelvin said in unison and Noel shot her brows up as they'd gotten the gist of it.

"She must be in a bad mood,"

"Yeah,"

Maddox scoffs and Noel nudged him.

"Hey!" He whined.

"You said you wouldn't tease,"

"I'm not. I'm just wondering, if she's like this over Chris having a girlfriend then how on earth would she react if she finds out she has a Fiance,"

The hall went silent for a moment.

"What?" Noel.

"What?" Kelvin.

"What?" Jeremy.

"What?!"

They froze as the last 'what' hadn't come from Maddox. Maddox hadn't notice Lynn's door fall open and now he wished he'd just kept quiet.

"What the fuck was that?" Lynn looked mad.
