Chapter 49 - The architect

After a few impacts, the statue finally fell into the temple and took away part of the wall. Some of the fishermen were alerted by the noise. They rushed outside and they saw with horror that their temple was attacked, they were paralyzed in front of the hole in the temple and the vision of the broken statue. They didn't understand what happened, nobody would ever attack a temple. That's when they saw her, gasping for breath, in the middle of the rubble. She had dislocated her shoulder when she smashed into the statue, and her silhouette was that of an asymmetric monster. Her golden eyes were shiny with tears of anger in the darkness as she was watching the civilians in front of her.

She took a step, slowly and passed through the hole to exit the temple. She looked at them and she yelled.

"Who did that?! Who built this temple?!"

The people there were paralyzed in fear but one courageous man stepped from the crowd.

"I did it."

Zaelia smiled wildly. She ran to the group and she didn't need a long time before killing everyone in the village with bare hands. Everyone except him. The screams of the victims resonated in the night, Xzander had no pain to find her following the screams and the smell of blood. He was shocked to see Zaelia in such anger, and his jaw dropped when he saw the broken statue, the demolished temple, and the dead bodies of the citizens everywhere on the floor. She massacred them, she ripped their throats out. She was covered in blood and laughed like a maniac as she grabbed the man who claimed to be the statue's creator.

She caught his neck and threw him on the floor at Xzander's feet. She screamed at the group at the top of her lungs in her fury, and no one could speak to her at that moment to try and calm her down. Xzander realized that she was no longer herself and could no longer be reasoned with.

"We take this guy! We will make him pay!"

Then she crouched to the man terrified on the floor, she watched him right in the eyes. Archanium's golden eyes were unique, and anyone who met her gaze would marvel at their splendor and magic, yet her eyes were as devastating as the most blazing fire.

"I assure you that you will live. I assure you that as long as you don't build my palace in redemption for your heresy you will beg every day for death to come to deliver you and believe me. Death will not come. Not for you."

She had a hysterical laugh, she pushed him while she stood up. She screamed at the group.

"We can go back home now! Assure the safety of this pathetic creature!"

The group didn't know what to think. Xzander was a bit confused. Nobody knew what happened but for sure they never saw Zaelia being so angry. Even the day she killed an elder after they disrespected Zephira she didn't have so much fury in her.

Xzander watched the man on the floor and told him with a calm and strong voice.

"What did you do to make her like this?"

The man was completely paralyzed by fear, Xzander helped him to stand up, he was not delicate but he was kind. He didn't approve of the idea of having a slave, the concept of freedom was too important for the tribe. The little man answered, shaking.

"I made a temple for our god, Tridjan."

Xzander laughed when he heard him, he patted his shoulder and he thought the situation was hilarious.

"Oh my poor friend, you are doomed. You couldn't do worse."

The man was in a secondary state, this difference in attitude between Zaelia and Xzander troubled him. He felt like his soul was separated from his body, she killed all the members of his village before he even had the time to realize what was happening. He couldn't believe these invaders were real humans and he was convinced that they were demons from the North sent to bring chaos and misery to the living.

Such savagery was unbelievable and still, he had the thin hope that all this was just a nightmare and he would awake very soon. He was watching Xzander almost begging for him to say that all of this was fake and Xzander laughed even louder. Simply happy to not be at his place.

They left the village and took the road to come back to the tribe. Zaelia didn't wait, she was so much furious that she didn't let the time to the forty-two even breathe. Xzander let her go first, he managed to organize some gatherings in the village to collect as many goods as they could in a short time. The group followed her right after.

Xzander put a rope on the man's hands and asked him.

"Do you have a name?"

The man stuttered.

"Alejandro... My name is Alejandro. Where are you bringing me?"

Xzander pulled the rope to him to make him walk, he couldn't help and didn't stop laughing. He was excited by what was happening. Zaelia's anger had an erotic effect on him, her fury was truly unparalleled. Her strength was impressive.

"We will bring you to your new home. The place where you will grow old and die. Welcome to our tribe haha."

Archanium also enjoyed Zaelia's wrath and passion, he liked it more than anything else in this era of mankind. She was a great distraction to him and she was serving him well. He was proud that one of the humans turned like this, she was the most loyal servant of his ideas and the golden eyes he gave her were his pride. She was his little jewel Zaelia was magnificent to him but right now he continued to watch this fishermen's village. He was intrigued by what was about to answer this provocation. His heart was bumping in his chest, The waves of the sea were agitated and it felt like the earth was trembling suddenly.

Something was about to come out from the sea and walk on the mortal's lands. Archanium couldn't feel more excited that Zaelia pushed this creature out of its shelter.

The god was extremely pleased.
