Chapter 26 - Confusion

The sword encased in a meagre blue flame penetrates completely inside the giant lakadabaggha's forehead, where its mana stone is likely to be present.

I lost my footing and fell to the ground as the hyena shook its head frantically while in tremendous pain. After a brief amount of time, the giant lakadabaggha's bulky form collapses to the earth with a 'thad' sound, and the light in its glowing yellow eyes disappears.

dragging myself to the lakadabaggha's body, I lifted my body to the sword, and holding the grip of the blade with my hands, I took it out of the hyena's forehead.

Examining the wound on the beast now I am completely sure that cutting through the skin of this giant lakadabaggha was even more difficult than piercing an army tank.

The only good thing that happened to me in this fight is that I didn't have to use my restricted skill; it's my trump card and also my last reserve. I don't want to lose it just like that in this case.

After bringing the sword out, a feeling of loneliness or emptiness fills my heart for a moment or two. The reason for this is probably because I have too little mana inside my heart, or maybe because even after passing the little amount of mana inside my sword, no dim blue flame appears on the blade, which is a proof that my temporary bond, which was caused by Gnosis' interference with my first rake weapon, is now over.

With a deep sigh, I put the task of converting my temporary bond to permanent in my 'Ask Me Letter' folder, after which I put my hand in the pit like the wound of that dead hyena and started taking out the mana stone from inside it.

Sensing the touch of something like a soft stone in my hand, I take out my hand from the beast's brain, which is now fully erect from the beast's blood and flesh. I press down on the sickening feeling rising in my stomach after seeing my hand and, then observe the red shining stone and the circular object that comes with it held inside my palm.

I first cleaned the pulp of the beast on that sphere, where I found small geometric shapes on the layer of white sphere stone. Deciding to have Gnosis analyse it later, I place it in my pocket, and after that, I quickly took that other red stone and put it in my mouth.

Unlike before, I can feel this time how the stone dissolves inside me like a sugar cube, pushing my mana recovery process faster, and the feeling of a sudden flow of energy inside my body cannot be obtained even after swallowing a whole bottle of energy drink.

My ribs are still broken, but knowing that my body will heal itself, so after getting some Mana I place my hands on the giant lakadabaggha, and a black mist comes out from my hands and completely covers the lakadabaggha's body.

This lakadabaggha was a rake beast, which is why it is taking too long for Gnosis to collect its essence through ability extraction. In real-time, my thoughts drift like the wind towards the future of this continent mansion in the novel. whatever I've learned about the world so far all of these things point in the direction of this world being similar to the novel I read, but I still don't think that things will go exactly as they are written in the book.

According to the chapters written in the novel from the point of view of Princess Elizabeth, after a few years this continent will come under the control of the Asuras, and to liberate that Light himself will have to come to this continent.

How nice and generic it is to hear from outside that a hero is risking his life to save the people of a slave continent and is not demanding anything from them in return. '

But as someone who has read the entire novel from Light's point of view, I can say that it is not possible to present Light as an individual with either a black or white personality; he can be considered one of the most intelligent people in some areas of this world, and whatever action he takes always has many reasons behind it. Like, the reason for arriving to save this continent would be the mission given by the system.

In the story, to complete this mission from his system, he ends up battling an Asura of peak-ninth transcendent Rake here, inside this cold forest. Due to the aftereffects of that fight, this cold forest is also going to end up completely converted into a desert.

The world of Vikram runs on the power of money, or it can be said that it runs on people's trust in each other and, differences in ideas and opinions.

Because in that world, money is just an idea that becomes reality through people trusting in each other or institutions like the government.

But in this world, the power is real not a fantasy number written on paper. The chances of a common man dying in the aftermath of a fight between two rankers are greater than those of being killed by a ranker himself.

At the final ark of that novel, only those who have at least reached the transcendent realm will survive.

So even if Light were a character with a white personality, like some children's fantasy characters in their novels. who also wanted to save this world from any danger, he still would not be able to save ninety-five percent of the world's population.

But the main protagonist of this novel comes from the antihero category and could not even fulfil the system's mission of saving five percent of the world's population from the coming calamities.

And if we talk about me, who is probably the only person in this world who knows what is in store for the future of this world, He is still confused about what to do.

Before my thoughts go to the solution of this confusion of mine, gnosis's voice in my head wakes me up from my daze.
