The three teenagers walked out of the room after arranging their make-up, they were still giggling reminiscing about their time in England. They met there since they attended the same school. It was common for wealthy people to send their children abroad to study. Hannah and Beck came back after middle school, the four were apart for two years but never lost contact from each others additionally for their strong bond. Life was really different in England as people there were more polite and reserved compared to american people who were more outspoken and open minded.
"By the way, Which school are you planning on attending?" Beck probed
"Not decided yet" she nonchalantly responded "Liam insists on Lake forest academy but i refused. I'm going to select my own school and yes it's my pride that won't let me be supervised by him anymore"
" Why not joining us at Latin school?" Hannah nudged her while she looked at her from an angle due to their height difference "Jane already applied there after begging her parents"
Latin school was one of the costliest school in Chicago but couldn't yet compare to Lake forest Academy's fame. The richiest kids in Chicago studied there.
"I'm not going to apply there because of you" She smugly said then laughed a little "But i think it' is not that of a bad choice i guess" she grinned in the end
"Don't worry i didn't even thought once that it was for the sake of our friendship" Beck rolled her eyes
"Yaaay, I'm looking forward to spend my last year in high school with you" The short haired girl was overjoyed. She linked her arms with them as they passed the corridor which lead to the large stairway.
"Ah it's about time, i thought you were going to stay there forever" Kyle was at the end of the stairs. He was just about to go upstairs but was relieved to see the three before ascending "I'm so sick of tending to you all the time"
"We were already coming back, and why are you so mad" Winter asked
They came over to him
"is he still offended by what i said?" Hannah promptly inquired
"I don't think so, he never keeps grudges"
"I definitely think he does" Hannah added
"I don't care about what you say, a little girl's words would never reach me" he proudly declared
"let's just go and enjoy this night, yeah?" Beck walked ahead
A lively pop music was played in the back. Around twenty people were assembled, drinking and talking. The teenagers who just went out of the house to join the party at the pool in the backyard of the house drew the guests attention. Beck gave a proud smile as she passed by the women who laughed at her attire when she made her entrance earlier. Her good assets were more shown off with her hair let down and her charming brown eyes were brought out more with the small make-up. Hannah was more casual with her hair combed back in a feminine way.
Most of the guests were in their twenties, distant cousins or friends. They were also from wealthy families and took care of their appearence a lot. Being dull in dressing is a big deal for them.
Brianna took the mic and went on the small podium they installed. She started with a hello and adressed to the guests "I'm very honered to speak before you all, as you know i'm not really good with words but i just want to thank you all for coming tonight. If you are here, it proves how close you are to our heart. Well, eight years ago we boarded a plan and flew to England to begin a new life, and we're back with you again today" She laughed a little "We spent wonderful moments there, we met new people, our daily life changed as well but it was a good adventure that we will probably never forget. However, in this city where we have our most precious childhood memories, personally i lived and grew up here for twenty years and a part of me belongs here even if i was far away for nearly a decade. Anyway we are back, we grew up and some of us even changed to be stronger and matured a lot and that was worth it guys. I want to make a toast for the future moments we're going to spend together again and yes we're gonna stay " She pointed out in the end and everyone cheared
She took a glass of champagne and held it up "To the future!"
"To the future!" Every guests followed suite and downed their drinks
Beck took a small bottle of liquor from her pocket and poured some in her glass. Seeing what she was doing with wide-eyes, Hannah whispered in a low voice
"Where did you fetch that thing?"
"I always bring this with me, want some?" She offered
"Gladly bitch, it's unfair that we can't even drink alcohol here when we pratically do it sometimes with Brianna and Jennifer" She lamented "Here, pour just a small amount,i don't want to be scolded for being drunk when i come back home"
She told her friend to hand her the flacon and looked at the other friend
"Winter" Hannah elbowed the girl on her right who was busy looking elsewhere
"What?" She gave her attention to the big eyed girl near her
"Pour this in your drink, Beck's treat" She said as she winked at her "Don't be caught"
"Oh" She devilishly smiled "you secretive little cows, thank you" She said back
Their discrecy didn't went unnoticed by the man who made eye contact with the pretty green almond eyed seventeen years girl a while ago. The adults were drawn on the talk and didn't see anything.
"Don't overdo it, you don't keep alcohol very much" Winter said to Hannah who nodded in response
After taking a sip from the lemon-lime soda mixed with the liquor, she licked her lips at the bittersweet savor.
"Auntiiiie" a high pitched voice called out loud
The small girl jumped at Winter while hooking her short arms around her waist. Her small feet were above the ground
"Hello my little devil" She spinned around the girl in her arms once which made her giggle before crouching at her level "Were you nice when i was not with you?"
"Of course. Besides you promised to teach me some moves after we see each other again" She broadly showed her small teeth
"Really? i said that?" she acted ignorant
the girl's lower lip jutted out while making a face
"Auntie is making fun of me again"
"Why would i make fun of you?" She grinned back
"You always do that"
"So you think i'm nasty?"
"Yes!" She crossed her arms
"Fine, you shouln't learn to dance with a nasty person then" She stood back up
"No! you are not nasty, you're very cool and kind" she exclaimed
"Yes i'm very cool and kind, auntie will tell you when she plan to do a new choreography okey?"
"Yes!!" She clapped her hands in joy "Oh mom said she wants to talk with you" She looked at her mom who was clearly flirting with her husband on one of the sunbeds. They were sitting close to each other with their fingers linked with the woman's head on the man's shoulder. They were whispering things to one another.
"They should really take a room" Beck commented when looking at the couple
"Lower your voice, there is a child here" Hannah said
Abigail stared at them in wonder with her innocent eyes. The girls just smiled dumbly at her.
"Oh i think your grandmother is calling you" Hannah told her with a stiff smile
Winter gave her friend a glare before giving her attention to her niece "Go to her, i will talk to your mother when she's free from your father"
"Okey" She went to her grandmother happily
The lights in the pool area were giving a homey feeling. The cold didn't bring much discomfort to the Young people. It wasn't snowing for the time being, morever they were drinking which made them warm and cozy.
"Hello?" A man appeared beside Winter when she was picking small appetizers to eat. She turned to see the man. He looked at her and said "Welcome back home"
"Hi Alan" Winter smiled at the twenty years old man "it's been ages"
"Yes, How are you?" He kindly smiled
"Very well. I learned that you are doing an intership at the Wheelers company" She said while smiling at the now well-dressed man before her.
Their relashionship was purely friendly many years ago. They didn't play with each other like kids their age but since Winter never had a close proximity with anyone, the eleven years old boy was the one that can be said to be the closest to her. He went to school with her everyday and had small talk.
"Yeah, i'm learning a lot in the PR departement"
"Oh that's really interesting you must be aware of the shadiest things of the company which should be well covered"
The man laughed "You changed a lot" he remarked
"I don't know, maybe i was always like this" she gave him her flirty smile
"And i think i like it" he grinned "I'm happy to know that you're staying for good"
"Well they wanted to come back and i just went along"
"Then i will make sure you love it here"
She just grinned and took bite of the tortilla pinwheels in her hand
