Chapter 13 - Sight *updated*

My eyes opened to the sun's rays blinding my eyes, my hand reached from the cover and to my eyes covering them however that didn't cover up the sound of construction that echoed through my room.

It was loud, loud enough that I actually grumbled and got up from where I was snuggled into the bed.

I dragged myself over to the window where I could finally see what was happening.

The direct sunlight blinded me for a second but knvr I had blinked it from my eyes I saw about thirty or so people building what seemed like huts around a giant campfire.

It was bigger than the one I had made but it was also different. The way that it was constructed made it seem like there was no smoke coming from it however if I squinted really hard I could still see some.

That was beside the point.

The sun rises out of the horizon signaling the start of the third day in this realm.

Sounds of construction in the distance drew my attention. Looking out the window I could see what seemed like primitive huts housing about 30 people all tirelessly working on housing.

"Seems the ash trees have bloomed" I mutter to myself

Ignoring the sounds of construction I start my day with a shower and all the basic hygiene necessities.

I walk out, my eyes still half bleary despite the time that had elapsed between my own awakening and now.

However the discomfort didn't last for long as a nice breakfast was prepared for me.

When I had walked out I hadn't noticed it but now that I had entered the kitchen I could smell it.

A nice meal prepared for me by Tama.

"Thanks…" I mumbled out before sitting down at the table.

I started to eat all the while watching as Tama watched me.

It was a bit strange but I just ignored it. By the time I was done eating I barely noticed her at all.

"My lord," she addressed me, "Those Gaul, they are of no threat."

I nodded at that, placing my plate and utensils in the sink all the while.

"Anything else?"

"Nothing much, they are a hive minded species but that is all that is to note about them. Of course there could also be other variations seeing as these are only the scouting party."

"I see, then this scouting party was most likely the weakest and only meant to gather information."

"Yes, there are other factors that play into this but most importantly is that they most likely are on the lower end of power, maybe only having a few tier ones."

"Hm…" I hum at that. "Is that going to be a problem then, those tier ones"

"No they can't break the veil between here and their own realm, the system won't allow it."

I finish cleaning my plate and put it back into the cupboard before moving towards the door.

However it was only then that I remember my promise, to give those other people a chance with the tactics and such things.

"That's really all, the queen wasn't very tactically inclined."

Listening to the last rant I finally compile it all into one message, detailing everything those others would need to survive.

A click of a button and it was sent into the ocean of messages. Though the name tag that I had would make it stand out a little more.

"Ah, thats right" I think out loud, remembering the message that was directed at me yesterday.

I navigate towards the friend section and scroll down until I found her name. Aoif.

Another click of a button and I had her added as my friend.

[you wanted to talk?]

It took barely any time for her to respond. Almost as if she was waiting for me or constantly scrolling through the messages of the chat.

[yeah I did]

[what was it that you wanted to talk about?]

[Before that you may have speculated about me a bit. About how I took an achievement from you.]

[I'll admit, I did but I just assumed it was some sort of territory talent.]

[Sight, that is my talent.]

[sight?]

[yeah, however it is not the sight you think of. I don't just see the world but more deeper. I see the very talent of everything.]

[it was how I upgraded my territory so fast]

[Wait… the summon token]

[yep]

[that means that you have some sort of powerful summon thrown. Since you could see the talent of the creature you would pull.]

[Yep however Delta pales in comparison to you.]

[Me?]

[yep you have even more talent than even the system summon.]

[I know it's a lot to ask but can you please come meet me. If you do, my coordinates are (xx,xx,xx). I'll also have Delta send a flare when your near.]

I sat down near the campfire. My mind on the conversation from earlier. It was a strange one.

This unknown girl, she wanted tk create an alliance with me and talk.

However from the snippets thag I had gotten from our conversation she had something that was as powerful or more powerful than even Tama.

It was a dilemma because she also seemed so sincere. She gave me knowledge of both her talent and how it worked.

Something that I would not have done were I in her position.

"My lord" I heard from behind me, my thoughts being interrupted by the sound of Tama's voice.

"You should take the offer, in my opinion she could be a great ally and I could defend you if anything were to go wrong."

"But what if she has someone greater than you?"

"Don't worry about that, they should be no problem for me."

I nodded at that and eventually just sighed. My gut was telling me to go but my rational side was telling me to stay. However that was broken down by Tama's words.

It was why I had Tama find Ali and bring her to me.

Once she had come back with the bird I mounted her and started to head towards the coordinates that she had sent us.

They weren't far from where we were and the actual directions weren't a problem.

The system took care of that for me, well at least part of it. It gave us our current coordinates that with a bit of math gave me the direction I needed to go towards.

It wasn't a long trip, however it was a boring one. I didn't have much to do except to watch as the surroundings last by or to just recalculate the route.

It was quite boring but it was interrupted by the boom of a flare.

Red fire lighting up the sky and giving us direction.

Next to me Tama jumped off of Ali and dashed forwards, most likely scouting our destination.

I just let her go and directed Ali to find where the flare had been set off.

I could smell the blood in the air, we hadn't even crossed into the clearing that the glare had been shot from but already I could feel the amount of blood in the air.

It was a chilling thought. Was this an ambush, was the blood coming from Tama or maybe the enemies.

However I wasn't able to worry anymore as the system popped up. Nearly giving me a heart attack with how sudden it was.

However it did give me some information. Most likely the blood I smelt was from the Gaul's.

[Ranking]

1. Aoif (1200)

2. Darwin (300)

3. Mihr (20)

4. Anael (20)

5. N/A

"They're here" I heard from in front of me, the voice reaching me before I could take a good look at who had said it.

However once I did my eyes fell upon what looked like a maid crossed with a soldier. One of her eyes was hidden behind an eyepatch but that didn't detract from the deadpan glare she was placing in me.

Next to me I felt as Tama appeared. Her tail curled protectively around me.

It was only after my gaze fell from the maid that I looked down, specifically where another girl was looking at me.

With purple hair that fell over her shoulders and matching murky purple eyes. She was beautiful, the pale skin, the blind eyes that looked at me with devotion despite the obvious blindness of them.

Even though it was clear she was blind, the way that she didn't react to outside stimuli. She was still gazing at me, it was a contradiction one that was only resolved by the talent that she had given me.

Sight. Now that I knew, it was ironic. A blind person gifted with supernatural sight yet could not see the actual.

"Beautiful… so, so pretty, " I heard her mutter under her breath, a blush lighting up her face as she realized what she said.

However despite the clear embarrassment she felt Aoif still did not break her gaze on me.

It was as if despite the deep embarrassment she had at her words she had to keep her eyes in me.

I looked to my side and had Tama follow me as I grew closer.

Eventually I was close enough the our faces were practically touching.

I sat down next to her, watching as each and every one of my movements was watched with rapid attention.

It was a strange feeling, one that I was not used to.

"Aoif, yes?" I ask, my voice breaking the silence between us.

She just nods, her head bobbing up and down. It was surprisingly cute, I couldn't help but notice.

Her head tilted to the side, a whisper on her voice.

"Darwin… dar- a - win" she pronounced, the words leaving her like she was testing my name in her lips.

"I like it."

I blushed at that, no one had ever complimented me like that. In fact I tried to remember any compliments that I had received over my life and found none.

A giggle echoed from my side, small bell like laughs reaching my ears.

I looked back to Aoif and found her slightly giggling behind her hand.

Her eyes were closed yet still trained on me.

I don't know how or when but I found myself in the house that Aoif was sitting outside of.

Food was on the table, some sort of roast something. A meat that I could not identify.

"Ahem-" I coughed into my fist as I finished the food in front of me. All the while placing the utensils down.

Despite the cough all Aoif did was smile at me, her eyes never leaving my own.

"In your message, you mentioned something about alliances?"
