the second day of the tournaments final phase is officially over, several hours have passed since the "match" between aika and hanako. the night sky is clear and a cold wind rushes around me, i decided to take a walk around the outskirts of the sand village to clear my mind. it feels weirdly empty and way too quiet. i stop walking for a moment and concentrate, i cant even sense anyone's chakra.
i should head back to the leaf village sleeping area, my leisurely stride turns into a speed walk which eventually turns into a full sprint, and then, i wake up.
i sit upright, breathing heavily, i feel like i just ran a marathon, and then i realize, something about my surroundings feels off, im laying in sand, i get to my feet quickly and look around, i cant see the village anywhere.
"Hey, Jin" jeiku is standing behind me, before i can react i feel a kunai held to my throat,
"jeiku what the hells going on?"
"you aren't in a position to be asking me questions, thats my job." jeiku removes the kunai from my throat and speaks again,
"how many people do you have trying to stop me"
"w-what?" i dont know what jeikus talking about.
"dont play dumb"
"jeiku i swear i dont know what youre talking about-"
"stop lying to me!" jeiku lunges at me and strikes me in the face, i tumble backwards and i feel jeiku on top of me, he begins to strike me in the face, yelling frantically while he does so, i dont know what happened to make jeiku act like this but it must've completely shattered his mind.
"DIE!" jeiku raises his kunai and plunges it down, but then there's a loud clang and jeikus knife flies out of his hand, i turn my head and theres a man wearing a cloak and a mask standing about 10 feet away, he pulls a sword out from beneath his cloak, its a katana thats only about half the length it should be, the blade looks like it was snapped in two and the end of it is jagged, large chips are on the metal, it looks like more of a relic than something to fight with.
"this is none of your business!" jeiku snarls and stands up, he makes two kunai out of chakra and he looks like an animal about to pounce on his prey.
"i cant just standby while something like this is happening" the man responds,
"who are you!?" jeiku sounds furious
"eh you know im..." his words trial off, "im just a traveler of sorts"
"you leave me no choice!" jeiku sprints at the man and stabs right into him.
"you missed" the man is behind jeiku, i didn't even see him move, his cloak is what jeiku stabbed and now that its off i can see the man is wearing tattered clothes and it looks like he hasnt changed them in months, he raises the destroyed sword and hits jeiku on the forehead with the hilt,
"divine intervention, shir-" before jeiku can finish his words the man uppercuts him.
"no fair divine interventions arent allowed" the man slaps jeiku across the face with an open palm.
"jeiku i dont want to have to fight you" the man says
"how do you know my name!" jeiku screams as he lunges at the man again, his attack is dodged with ease.
"ill tell you if you stop attacking me for a second" jeiku doesnt listen and continues to throw attacks at the man, theyre all dodged, jeiku is hit in the stomach with a fist and he falls to his knees.
"now just sit still for a moment" the man reaches up and slowly takes his mask off, its a face i recognize, he speaks in a voice i haven't heard for a long time, still with that cocky grin as always, im looking right at none other than Rōgan Uzumaki
