"well then it seems thats all there is to discuss today, mikku do you mind staying back for a minute so we can discuss the tournament in more detail" i stay silent but the rest of the ambassadors swiftly leave
"why not have them stay to help" it was your idea was it not? im here to help you get the details squared away." everyone leaves apart from me, jin, the old man, and the old mans escort, his voice drops now that its just us, "i dont know what kind of game you think this is but if one of kings followers becomes leader of the ninja world we do not stand a chance. i dont think tou understand the magnitude of the situation, the only members of the 10 that aren't with king are me and numbers 1 and 6, thats not very many."
"jeiku of the leaf village is one of the 10, hes against king"
"great a child is in the 10, how wonderful"
"why would you go for my idea if youre this against it now"
"because i want to kill king, at first i thought that was your goal but i dont think it is, what are you after mikku" i dont know if i should tell him but i decide to be honest
"i want jeiku to become leader so i can live a quiet life, with a close friend as the leader i won't have to worry about anything ever again"
"jesus christ" the old man sounds defeated "well theres no turning back now. youd better pray that one of the good guys becomes the leader of the ninja world"
~1 week later~
jin and i returned to the leaf village and gave hashirama the news, the following day he announced it to the village, that day after he received a letter stating that the sand village has volunteered to host the tournament. every single shinobi is eligible to participate, and as of now several thousand are signed up, everyone wants a chance to lead the ninja world. the preliminary rounds of the tournament begin in a month. im starting to question if i messed up by suggesting the tournament, the old man out smarted me effortlessly and i still got what i suggested, hes plotting something and i feel like its malicious. maybe ill have jin tail him when we get to the sand village, the problem is jin is competing, but by following the old man i could potentially find out what hes up to. hes smart though and if jin is caught that could mean more trouble for the village. i dont know if i should tell jeiku about this or if i should figure it out on my own, probably the latter.
i decide ill ask hashirama if he has any info on the old man, i head to his office and knock on the door
"come in" i open the door and hashirama is there behind his desk "ah mikku what a pleasant surprise"
"lord hokage i have a question about one of the ambassadors from the meeting" i decide to get straight to the point, "do you have any information on the ambassador from the sand village?"
"oh yes i think i do, i should have files on all the ambassadors" he digs around in some papers and then pulls one out "here it is" he hands it to me, i take a good look at it
"thanks lord hokage" i swiftly leave the room and close the door before he can say anything in response. i run to the nearest alleyway and catch my breath, the file hashirama showed me was certainly for the ambassador of the sand village, but there was something wrong with it. the file wasnt about the old man i met at the meeting, it was a completely different person, meaning that the old man is deeper in this than i had thought.
