Wang YoYo was annoyed. She was sent by her master to pick up some no name mage from some back water village, and he had the nerve to make her wait. She flicked her long pink, scorpion braid off her shoulder and folded her arms across hugging the sign board she was holding to her ample chest. Yoyo had been waiting at the Galaxy Mall in front of the warp gate area for the whole morning, this was unacceptable. If it wasn't for the fact that her master personally requested this of her, she would have left by now after all she was the sect's youngest Orange Level warrior, she needed to wait for no one.
Then she finally saw him. She wasn't sure at first but as the boy just stood on the warp gate, disoriented in the way of everyone, she knew it had to be him. The gigantic bag on his back with pots dangling from it was also a dead country bumkin give away. Though he didn't look like what she was expecting, he looked like the sickly young master of some noble house. She looked away with a slight red taint to her cheeks, but when she looked back, he was gone. WTF, where did he go, she thought to herself in a panic. Galaxy Mall wasn't the kind of place you wanted to get lost in, there were unsavory characters lurking around every corner. It was especially bad as he was just a low-level mage, there was no way he could protect himself. Wang YoYo had a vision of the beautiful young man being dragged into some dark corner of the mall and having unmentionable things done to him. She pressed her fists to her flushed cheeks and squealed, her fujoshi side getting the better of her for a second.
She decided it was time to go find the lost country bumkin as people were looking at her strangely. So off she went looking high and low for him, worried sick for his well-being only to find him at a concert. Puffing her cheeks in anger she stumped over to him grabbing his arm. The boy jumped and turned around to watch her as if he had seen a ghost. She couldn't help but feel insulted.
"Are you my bumkin?" she rudely asked, flashing him the sign she had with his name on it. The boy squinted at the sign dumbly for a second before looking back at her. "Wait, aren't you Chi Bai Cai?" Crap she followed the wrong person. Wang Yoyo turned to rush back to the warp gate, but her arm was held back.
"Yes, I'm Chi Bai Cai," he answered with a blinding smile.
She felt herself blush as he looked at her with big shining brown puppy eyes. Why is this guy so pretty, she thought to herself. "Well come on let's get going." She hooked her arm around his and dragged him out of the building.
Wu Liang Hui wiped the cold sweat from his brow with his other hand as he was led back to where the warp gate was. That was a close one, he thought that creepy old lady had caught him. He looked down at the cute twenty-something girl attached to his arm. Her pink and white dress reminded him of something Tinker Bell would wear. Never in his 46 years of life did he think that there would come a day when a beautiful fairy would hang onto his arm. The girl went on to introduce herself as his senior sister in the sect. She swiped a black card onto the totem near the warp gate and they were transported to what looked like an outdoor arena.
The Lightning Sword Sect was one of the most prominent sects on the mainland. It occupied the mountainous region of the east. It was bordered by the coastal kingdom of Ladson, the valley of Sackville Kingdom and the Rainforest Sanctuary. The Galaxy Mall was located in the Ladson Kingdom. When they had arrived at the courtyard arm in arm it was packed with sect members.
"It's Sister Wang!"
"Sister Wang you're back!"
"Sister Wang is back!"
"Sister Wang!"
Before he knew it, they were surrounded by a crowd of young sect disciples. Everyone had smiles on their faces, but Wu Liang Hui was suffocating on an unknown dark aura. He felt as if he was being stabbed multiple times in all directions.
"So, who's this?"
"Is this that Chi Bai Cai guy your master sent you to pick up? "
That was the finishing blow for Wu Liang Hui as snickering could be heard throughout the crowd. He tried to free himself from Yoyo's grip but the hurt expression on her face made him drop the idea. He had no choice but to be paraded around like a walking joke as she happily gave him a tour of the sect. He could barely focus on what the girl was saying due to the daggers being thrown at his back. Liang Hui breathe a breath of relief when the tour came to an end at his room. The room was located in the Hall of Mages, a collection of buildings reserved of the mages in the sect. Thanking Wang Yoyo for everything he dropped his bag onto the floor and flopped on the bed face first.
Groaning, he turned his head to the side to breathe. Then with a sigh he got up resolved to take a bath. However, he was too lazy to fetch water to fill the round wooden basin that was in the far corner of the room. That's when a lightbulb in his head lit up, who needs a tub when they have their own lake. With just that thought he found himself once again in the demi plane. Without a second thought Liang Hui stripped off his clothes a jumped into the calm, clear waters of the lake.
"This is the life!"
The lake was the size of a athletic training pool and in the shape of a kidney. The waters were neither cold nor hot, it was just right. He splashed around in the lake stopping every now and then to take a sip of the water. It tasted like a sweet medicine, as it flowed through his body he felt as if he was being cleansed from the inside out. By the time he came out of the lake Wu Liang Hui felt as if all the minor aches and pains in his body from walking around whole day with that heavy bag on his back were gone. He felt so relaxed and at peace he had forgotten to put his clothes back on, this would later become a bad habit that would bite him in the butt.
He decided to walk around the log cabin to air dry. Looking through all of the various apparatus on the work desk he noticed a circular crest engraved onto them. It was a sword encircled by a vine with three blooming flowers. Thinking back on it, this crest was on everything in the cabin from the doors to the books and even the purple throw that was hanging off the back of the desk chair. He made a note to himself that everything with that crest on it belonged to him.
