I had no idea how long I lay on the floor in a blank, mindless daze, my eyes closed. Everything happened simultaneously, overloading my brain with the pain as it all slowly returned to me—every long, painful second of bone-breaking and vein-burning pain.
Everything was on fire and burning, yet it slowly faded away. Soon I could move my hands and limbs.
