Chapter 15 Out To The Ruins
~The next morning ~
Waking up and getting ready, I pulled away from the sexy body clinging close to mine. Stretching, I soon woke Icy up. We both got fitted and headed to the guild. As we walked, it was easier for us to just chat. Despite, many of Icy's playfully and teasing innuendos, we were growing closer as pack members I felt I could trust her with my back.
"So heh, last night gonna be a common thing?~" Icy said playfully, much to my groaning and embarrassed composure.
In short, I may have regrets yet. But it would be lying if I said I wasn't starved for the body of another to warm my bed.
" Hmm do a good job on this quest, and maybe I'll reward you for being a good girl how's that?" I said basically giving her a reason to do more.
She happily nodded, her red tail swaying cutely. We walked into the guild, and many males and a few girls gave me a knowing look and grin, as it was obviously on Icy's face what finally happened.
"Aye blaze finally bagged the elf! "
"bout time I told ya he'd crack, haha!"
"Dammit, I wish it was me instead "
All I could do was growl in annoyance, gritting my teeth. Honestly, this was on me, and I couldn't really be mad at what they were saying, I would do the same if they were in my boots.
"You're a pig," Snow said, blocking us from going to the teleport gates.
"Hey, ease up him I was the one who got him to agree, lighten up Snow, Blaze is a good guy in many ways, hehe~," Icy said to a blushing Snow as she just shook her head.
"You two better be on guard. The ruins are constantly visited by other guilds, and it is time for the dungeon to open, so we don't need either one of you to get killed out there You are our best new members for the guild tournament. Many will try to either kill you or have you join them, Blaze I don't know why the master likes you this much....but you two, please come back alive and with something good in there ok?" Snow said to me and for once, she looked at me, not with her normal look of hate, but with genuine care and worry.
My eyes widen, and I let out a sigh smiling.
"Don't worry, I got the best bodyguard with me. Icy will get me to the dungeon with ease after that, and it's all on me, seeing it's how I'm barely level 15. So I can get in, but she won't as she's past the entry-level." I said to ease her worries.
She signed, nodding, handing us both a return crystal." Use this as soon as you're out or if anything happens in there or, outside for you, Icy." Snow said as we both took the crystals, putting them away.
Heading to the teleport gates, we both stood on the pads as we were sent to another city that held the ruins. It was busy and bussing, with many shops and guild recruitment at every step, ignoring them we headed to the ruins. We had about to, midnight before the dungeon would open. Till then it was time I get to at least lv 8 before I go in.
"Icy go scout out a good place to hunt and kill any mobs ya see along the way also do "collection". I said to her as she gave me a thumbs up rushing off to the east. Looking around, letting out my [Aura Senses] to find something to fight, maybe I'll find a stray person to fight, who knows?
Soon locking onto an lv 12 flame bird, grinning I rushed that way knife drawn. Stopping as I got within a few meters, getting low to the ground, slowly stocking closer to it as I saw a group of them feasting on some nearby fruits and herbs. My smile grew seeing they were eating rich flame apples as there were, a few growing on the trees around them, they were shaped like normal apples but had flame-like patterns on them.
These were used in many potions to increase one's flame properties or, would eat them to gain fire affinity. Lucky for me I didn't need the skill, and I could grow my flames by eating these birds' flames as well. This was quite a feast in front of me!
Sending out flaming [Aura chains], the birds chirped violently and blew flames, all over to get free only for my chains to draw in and eat the flames.

Jumping at them I sent my knife at the leader and aura knives at the other 3 piercing all their heads and killing them then and there.

Gathering all the corpses and fruit, I removed the hearts, and then began to eat my fill, I could feel the heat in my heart grow. I really need to get another flame ability because eating hot, flames became a new favorite of mine.

There we go much better with this, I'll definitely be able to do much more in the dungeon.
Best to eat one heart, see if it'd be better to eat them all, or, give them to my system for stat or skill points. Looking around I took one out of my storage and ate it.
"D-did you just eat a monster's heart!?" Said a very shrill male as I drew my sword stuffing it all in my mouth.

Looking at the male, it was a priest, quickly putting up a barrier around himself as his other teammates soon ran over. Seeing where this leader I was prepared to ease everything while giving nothing away.
"Hey now let's calm down, I'm just out here hunting before the dungeon opens, pretty sure y'all are doing the same I ain't got no beef." I said resting my sword on my shoulder, not fully putting it away just in case.
"I saw you ate a monster's heart and you clearly ate the corpses behind you... you freak!" The frazzled priest said as the members looked at even then me, ready to fight before an older male stopped them as he had cat ears yet longer.
A lion-man! He was a lion-man they were very rare in these parts, and clearly, he was their leader.
"Ignore my member he clearly can't put two and two together mr werewolf, clearly you did just as you said you hunted these pray and ate them, that's not that uncommon to us half beasts, but it's true when it said werewolves would eat anything they find tasty, my name is Seth I hope you could give us your name." the proud man said with a smile.
Honestly, he seemed to want to get on my good side, that or he knew I wasn't someone to mess with, taking out multiple, flying element-based monsters alone, with no injury wasn't something, many could do.
"Blaze, the name is Blaze. I'm a member of the Daylight Martyrs, I hope we see each other in the dungeon. I'll be going alone, so if y'all plan on fighting me better hope y'all are strong hehe also Icy, you can put the arrows away!" I said as Icy dropped from a tree putting the 5 mana arrows knocked in her bow away as they all looked at her scared.
As at most, this group had their levels in the 9-14 ranged, Icy was lv 25 if not 26 or 27 after her hunting spree.
" Hey Blaze you better be ready for a fight beastman to beastman!" Seth said with a smile as I looked back smiling at him wanting the challenge.
"Oh trust me I'm looking forward to it!" I said meeting his challenge back pointing my sword at him as he drew his curved sword, pointing back, we both knew we'd definitely be fighting in that crazy place soon.
