Lucia went out of the dressing room first with a smack on the back to Charlotte and she rolled her eyes from leaving herself alone in the large fitting room with the lights shining down upon her. With there being no natural lighting, the white light was burning into her eyes.
It reminded her of the vibes that could be found in the Centennial Center due to the fact that the light was able to bring everything that wanted to be hidden to the surface.
Feeling fresh in the new clothing despite the grimy dust shifting on top of her skin, they were doing well. Charlotte turned to look herself up and down in the mirror and gave herself a false smile to try and make herself seem less dead than the tiredness that couldn't be concealed.
Her lips trembled up into a smile only for the curtains to be pulled back roughly. She turned over her shoulder and eyed the person who drew back the long curtains since he was standing off to the side with his ankles crossed over each other with his arms crossed.
Charlotte ran her fingers through her hair once more and sighed. "Looked your fill?"
Vincent gave her a chilly smile. "Are you ready for me to?"
Her lips pressed together while she gave him a smirk. "I'll take you on when you're not fatigued."
"Can you even handle me at my best?"
"Why bother holding out?" Charlotte drawled. "If I can't have you at your best, why bother at all?"
His hand fit perfectly into her waist and spun her around so that they were both facing the mirror. Charlotte flicked her painted eyes up to their reflection from the full-length mirror that illuminated their faces, and she cocked her head to the side when Vincent dropped his chin down on her shoulder.
There was a soft clearing of the throat behind them and while Charlotte got startled, slightly jumping in her skin, Vincent held her calmly, running circles on her side knowing that Sonya was right around the corner.
Sonya came into the room fully with the packaged clothing in a box that was wrapped neatly in a brown-colored wrapping paper with a cream tweed string tied into a tight bow at the top, and Charlotte found Sonya extremely sweet to go out of her way to package their clothing as if it was a present.
"Ready to go?" Sonya asked.
Charlotte nodded. "Yes."
Sonya pivoted on her foot with a kind glimmer in her eyes, and they walked out to the floor of the boutique with Lucia standing near the open door talking quietly with Stone. Lucia and Stone glanced up as they approached, and Sonya gave the boxes over to her and Lucia.
"You guys should be set for now. I doubt you would need any more supplies than I have already planned out," Sonya expressed. "If there is anything that is needed, reach out immediately. We have to be meticulous during this time."
"Thank you, Sonya," Charlotte smiled. "You've been a large help on such a quick notice."
"I tried my best and am glad that I was able to pull through. I was lucky that I had Gabriel helping out behind the scenes as well as picking up the materials needed."
"Why was Gabriel here?" Vincent questioned.
Sonya paused. "That's none of your business."
It didn't take a genius to connect the dots, so the so-called Gabriel and Sonya had to be in a relationship of some kind. Romantic most likely, but she couldn't tell with Sonya's passive face. Once again, vampires were extremely hard to read, because they were able to keep a stoic face no matter the situation.
"Gabriel is currently under who's jurisdiction?" Stone asked with a frown.
"None at the moment," Sonya replied. "A freelancer as a human would say."
"In a vampire's world, there is no freelancer," Stone pressed.
Sonya wasn't budging. "He has no ties. What does it mean to you?"
"Then he must be someone who's willing to get his hands dirty underneath the table," Stone said harshly trying to goad Sonya into speaking more.
Sonya ignored Stone's disparaging of Gabriel's behalf. "He was called to the council when you all just arrived."
"Interesting. The council wouldn't call upon a singular person unless you had a certain role," Stone pointed out. "What business did he have?"
Sonya shrugged. "I have no idea. That is a question that I'll have to ask him if I catch a hold of him."
Vincent cut in knowing that the conversation wasn't going to get anywhere. "We'll see you later then."
Sonya dipped her chin down. "Yes. Hopefully soon and in good circumstances."
"That is the least that we can ask for," Charlotte agreed.
Stone went out the door first after a parting look over at Sonya which she acknowledged. Lucia waved before heading out and so did Charlotte lifted a hand over in Sonya's direction before Vincent closed the door of the boutique.
She had no idea who this Gabriel person was, but she knew that Stone and Vincent harbored silent opinions. Charlotte glanced back at the last moment and didn't miss the wink of gold in Sonya's dull eyes through the sliver of space just before the door shut.
