Using resources from his blank check, Shepherd deduced the last two safe havens for Makarov and his men at a safehouse on the Georgian-Russian Border and an aeroplane boneyard in Afghanistan. Knowing they have to be at two different places at once, I nominated myself and Roach, along with a bulk of Task Force 141, to take the safehouse, while Soap and Price investigate the boneyard.
After raiding the safehouse however, Makarov was nowhere to be found, though the safehouse was loaded with intel. Or in my words "A bloody gold mine"
After the getting all the Intel, me, along with Roach, Ozone and Scarecrow, with sniper support from Archer and Toad, protected a DSM from Makarov's men while it downloaded sensitive information regarding Makarov's operations. After finishing the download, the team headed to the LZ that was set up by Shepherd, though Ozone and Scarecrow were both gunned down by enemy mortars, and Roach was injured. I managed to get Roach to the LZ, but both us were ultimately betrayed by Shepherd, who fatally shot us in the chest at point-blank range with a .44 Magnum, just before I could use his ACR.
After Shepherd retrieved the DSM from Roach, my body was thrown into a ditch and set on fire along with Roach's.
As I was burning away to my death, I thought about what Soap and Price will do to Shepherd. I know that they will have revenge in our team's name, and knowing that I can peacefully die.
"That's what I thought in my final moments on Earth but who would have guessed that I would still be alive." I said to myself.
"Technically you're dead." Said the guy that has a bowl hat and a really big moustache.
"Well duh! I was shot in the chest." I said.
"I know that." That guy said,
"So why am I still alive?"
"You're dead, this is your soul." The guy said again.
"So my soul looks how I look in my uniform? Good to know." Then looking at him I asked "So changing the question to why am I here?"
Smiling at me he said "I have seen your life. You fought for a noble cause, but got betrayed by the man who brought you into that cause. You fixed your family, only to get it destroyed within small amount of time."
"Yeah, I don't need to hear my own history buddy." I told him since I didn't want to relive those days again.
Nodding at what I said, the man spoke "I know, I'm just saying for the appearance sake.
Now, here's a question for you. If you are given a chance to reincarnate will you choose to reincarnate or go where you're supposed to go?"
Looking at him I said "And where am I supposed to go?"
"To the afterlife." He told me.
So I asked him. "Where are my mother, brother, sister-in-law and little Jacob?"
"They have left the afterlife and moved onto their new life." He said.
"If I reincarnate, will I see them again?" I asked, since I wanted to know about it very badly.
"You will." He said.
"Do I see them all in the place I'm going to reincarnate, or do I have to reincarnate four times?" I asked.
"Yes, you will have to live your life to meet them. And if you choose to reincarnate, you will be able to live two lives. The second one being a gift from me." He said.
So I would have to live one time to meet the four of them... "Wait, what about Roach and others?"
"They have decided to reincarnate to see their family members." He said.
"Ok, so what happens to me after my two lives?" I asked.
"You will reach the afterlife then. From there you will reincarnate without any memory of the past lives. But they will come up as dreams for you." He told me, and hearing that I just nodded at him and said "Alright, I'm opting to reincarnate."
"Good. Now, I want you to know that, you will have all your equipment but there will be some changes to them and also, you will get some of the powers that are related to your nickname." He said.
Hearing that I didn't say anything as I didn't care about super powers at all. All I need is to meet my family members.
Looking at me again "Now then, I will see you after your five lives."
Saying that he turned around to leave and that was the moment when I thought about his name and it didn't pop up in my head so I called him out and asked "Hey! What's your name?"
Looking at me he had a gentle smile as he said "I am The Presence."
