I pleaded as I knelt, begging the manager of the hunter association.
"…Fine Muhan Seongjang-nim, you'll have one last chance to prove yourself."
You may be wondering how I happened to get my self in such a situation. Therefore, we must rewind the story to catch you up.
My name is Muhan Seondjang, I am a Guide for young hunters. To ensure that they venture into the dungeons safely.
Though, this job was not my dream. I once dreamed of becoming a hunter. Though my powers awakened my dream was sadly crushed by my evaluation as it turned out I didn't have an innate ability.
Innate abilities were something everyone is born with. You could get a really high rank innate ability or a really low rank innate ability. I am a special case though. I wasn't born with such luxury, having no innate ability whatsoever.
This didn't stop me though, as I spent the next 4 years after my awakening training to raise my stats. Despite all that hard effort and my stats being capped out, I only remained an F Class Hunter.

I still didn't give up though, I knew I had no talent and I was the bottom of the ladder. This wouldn't stop me from signing up as a guide for the hunters association.
I spent another 4 years being a guide at the hunters association before, they eventually grew tired of me. And decided to fire me.
As a guide I was tasked with leading the new hunters through a F Ranked Dungeon, and give out tips to them.
During this I would hunt small enemies as the new hunters were occupied with hunting the F Ranked Monsters.
This was so I could gain money to make a living so I didn't have to go homeless. Since I'm a F Ranked Guide, my salary is less than 100,000 Won a month.
To make a living, I would hunt the smaller monsters and sell their cores at the hunter association.
I would do research on all types of dungeon and prepare equipments for the new hunters starting out.
I had knowledge of many monsters and dungeons due to me doing research and being a guide for 4 years.
This was my life, before everything went to shit, and the manager almost fired me. Since I had a bad reputation as a Guide and I couldn't raise my stats past F Rank no matter how hard I tried.
They didn't need me anymore.

The manager looked down at me with his cold eyes.
"Muhan Seongjang-nim, you will be given a F Rank Dungeon. If you manage to kill 5 monsters and bring their cores, we will allow you to keep being a guide."
The manager said with a smirk, knowing that was impossible for me.
I stood up, thanking the manager before taking my leave. With this I had an hour before the dungeon. I wasn't informed, what type of F Rank Dungeon it was. But there are limited types of F Rank dungeons.
Just in case, I bought myself a few health potions and a knife. I had also gotten some beef jerky and a water. Since they wanted me to do this solo. I wasn't that worried since all I had to do was kill 5 F Rank Monsters.
With my current stats it shouldn't be impossible to do. With years of experience training and guiding other hunters through F Rank Dungeons. This shouldn't be a problem. Or so I thought.
I had arrived at the Dungeon, and I was given a heads up to start, so I stepped into the dungeon with all my stuff. As the people in the hunter association stared at me.
Since there were all kinds of rumors about me, mostly about how I couldn't even raise my stats above F Class. I had a slimmer of hope though. Killing 5 F Rank Monsters shouldn't be that hard.
I didn't know what was so funny to them, but I went in the dungeon to find out for myself. Then I realize, these bastards had tricked me.
This wasn't a F Ranked Dungeon.
This Dungeon was way larger than an F Ranked dungeon.
Then I knew why this was the case.
"…They wanted to get rid of me.."
I said looking disappointed, my slimmer of hope had gone down the drain.
They knew no one would care if I had disappeared in a dungeon.
I wasn't a very known hunter, I had a mostly bad reputation among the regular hunters. I was known for staying at F Class, unable to get my stats above F Class.
'…In my next life, I'll make sure to kill you all..!'
I felt enraged and betrayed. The association I had worked in for 4 years had betrayed me. To them I was just a pawn that could be controlled however they wanted.
Clenching my fists, I ran. I ran and ran until I found a small cave. I took shelter there for the night, as the dungeon looked like a forest type dungeon, trees, large bushes all around me, and small cave systems.
Starting up a fire, with a starter survival kit I brought with me. This was a mistake though. I didn't realize until then but this would lead to a unfortunate situation.
Taking shelter near the fire, the smoke from the fire, the light from the fire, also attracted unnecessary attention to myself.
Monsters would notice the smoke and light. It was unusual. They weren't dumb, the actual rank of this dungeon was around D-C.
Since this was a forest type dungeon, Muhan Seongjang had been unaware of the fact, that the monsters in this dungeon were blood wolves. They had a strong scent of smell and inexhaustible amount of hunger for blood.
In a matter of minutes, he was surrounded by the blood wolves without him noticing. Blood wolves were great at making precise movements.

I didn't really know what to do in this situation. The monsters in this dungeon were leagues ahead of me in terms of stats.
Since I knew this wasn't an F Rank Dungeon, there was no way I could survive this.
Sitting beside the warm fire, I had sensed something is wrong, I couldn't put my finger on it.
Once I stared at the night sky in the dungeon, it felt unreal. I was just guiding hunters yesterday, now I'm stuck in a high ranking dungeon solo.
My feelings didn't subsided though, my rage and hatred were still there. I had promised to myself that when I get out of this dungeon alive, even in the gates of hell, I'll crawl my way out and get my revenge.
In that moment, I had seen little red dots outside the cave, that's when I realize, I had been surrounded. Standing up slowly taking out my knife.
The blood wolves came out one by one behind the bushes and trees. I couldn't put my finger on it but it seemed like there were around 10-15 wolves surrounding me.
I had grabbed a piece of firewood just incase, and started to walk backwards deeper in the cave. Since this was a small and narrow cave, only one could fit at a time.
Step Step
This meant that I could go face one of them at a time. That didn't matter, blood wolves are D Ranked Monsters. My stats and blood wolves stats were incomparable.
I couldn't survive, but using my knowledge I could take one down before I die.
It started, a blood wolf charged at me. Throwing my knife at the blood wolf.
Woosh!
Despite them being D Ranked monsters they still had a simple attack patterns. They mainly bite and surround enemies in groups.
Because I was in a narrow and small cave, most of those options were limited. As expected, the knife just bounced off the blood wolf.
Clang!
The sound of the knife bouncing off the fur of the blood wolf, the fur is as hard as steel, leaving no marks on the blood wolf.
This gave me an opportunity to use the burning torch I had grabbed just in case, shoving it inside the blood wolf mouth.
Hyuk..!
The blood wolf, made a small whimper, as the burning torch went inside the mouth of the blood wolf.
Then releasing my hand on the torch, using both of my hands to hold the blood wolf in place. Having my left hand on top of the blood wolf mouth, and my right hand under the mouth of the blood wolf chin.
Holding it in place, as the fire burned the mouth of the blood wolf. The blood wolf couldn't do anything as it's fangs were rendered useless due to the piece of burning log inside its mouth.
This didn't matter. I thought I stood a chance but instead, I had miscalculated something. Since blood wolves were D Ranked, they can easily bite through pieces of wood easily.
The blood wolf chomped the piece of the burning log off, proceeding to tackle my stomach. Knocking me backwards, hitting my head on the hard ground surface.
Chomp! Keuk..!
The impact wasn't small, as the impact from the tackle injured the back of my head. There were no major injuries. But due to the impact, I would black out for a moment before regaining consciousness.
The blood wolf stood before me. Then on top of me, the blood wolf started to drool as it's saliva fell onto my face.
Due to the difference in stats, I couldn't even move. If I did I would've been dead right away. Then the inevitable happened.
It had chomped down into my stomach, drinking the blood inside of my body. My screams and agony could be heard from the other blood wolves outside the cave. As I tried punching the blood wolf to no avail.
Keuk..! Chomp..!
My hands felt numb, I was losing sight due to blood lost, I was slowly losing my sense of touch, the ever lasting pain as the blood wolf feasted on my blood.
Biting my lips, I wished this would end faster, I didn't want to feel pain anymore, if only I was born with an innate ability. If only I could surpassed F Class.
"…Even if I die, I'll crawl back from the depths of hell to get my revenge, mark my words. Anyone who looked down on me and laughed at me, will feel the pain I went through in the 8 years I suffered…!"
Losing consciousness, a light appeared before my eyes. A hologram panel, as the message was relayed into my head.

I was nearing death at this point, I was losing consciousness every second, I just wanted to die, maybe I'm hallucinating before my death. Then another message popped up.

I hadn't known what it meant, a second chance for what..? I didn't care at this point, I was probably just going crazy. Accepting my fate, but if they were really talking about a second chance, could I turn my fate around..?
「 Will you accept the second chance? 」
I didn't care what happens anymore, even if I'm going crazy, so be it. I'd clenched my fists and spoke with all my might.
"..I accept! Give me a second chance! A chance to prove everyone wrong and change my fate!"
