A 6ft tall dark brown beast "smiled" happily as it looked at its little prey of a boy. It was the definition of ugly from its looks. It has four large bulging eyes, a wide mouth housing a messy set of tusk-like teeth, an almost nonexistent pair of ears. Its eyes shook and rotated regularly and its two pairs of hands had unnecessarily long black claws. Its feet had the same appearance as its hands. A long slimy tail with silver hook twisted and turned like a snake. Even though its fur was beautiful, the way it stood in a twisted way made it appear disgusting and ugly. That was the Marauding Baron and Kevin didn't have the guts to fight it or yet still kill it. He didn't even know its level, how was he supposed to kill it.
His instincts were screaming for him to run but he was too engulfed in fear that the screams were barely audible. The Marauding Baron seeing its prey not being able to resist roared into the sky in triumph. As for the reason, no one knows but its cry was the mistake it made. The cry was anything but a roar. It sounded like a teenage boy in labor, stupid and annoying to the extent that its prey got the courage to raise the fallen axe and chop a skin of the beast. "Who thought you to roar like that! Humpf! Are you really a Marauding Baron?!" Kevin asked out of annoyance. Suddenly the place turned more silent. Silent than the previous one. Kevin looked panic stricken while the Marauding Baron looked like it had swallowed an elephant. It even forgot to scream in pain and just let its green blood flow. Its eyes shook aggressively and threatened to pop out. "Who the fuck is this kid to question my majestic roar?! Does he know how many years I took to cultivate the stupefying roar?! I must kill this kid!"that was the thought of the Marauding Baron, probably.
Kevin looked at the beast in front of him and took some steps back to create space between them and run. He run like there was no tomorrow, dodging trees and bushes. Jumping over huge rocks which he was sure he couldn't do, adrenaline was seriously...….
He was too afraid to look back but the slight tremors of the earth and the annoyed-pained cries of the beast was enough for him to know that the beast was hard on his tail. He knew his time was nearly up but it wasn't time for that. He had to survive no matter what. After 20 minutes of intense running, the Marauding Baron and Kevin both realized something. For a kid like Kevin who didn't have any Martial arts and a Marauding Baron who was, probably 9 years older than Kevin, it should have already caught him but it was still struggling to. Little did they know that something was changing rapidly in Kevin.
They were currently branching towards Kevin's house but the beast did not plan on letting go. The boy had insulted his pride and he had to pay, no matter what! Slowly they got near the house but Kevin's heart nearly jumped out of his chest. Barely 5 meters from him was Lolita, his sister. Out of anguish he shouted with all the strength he could muster. "Lolita get out of the way! Run to master! Now!" But it fell on deaf ears. He even felt like crying but he knew that when his sister was immersed in playing, even thunder couldn't break her focus. Looking at the situation in front of him, he made a decision. It all happened so fast that the beast was shaken for a moment. "I will never let my sister die!"
With the few meters between him and the Marauding Baron, he jumped or most likely, pounced at the beast.
Back at home, Revel heard the sudden cries of a beast and the voice of Kevin. Without thinking, he rushed towards the forest with an axe. He got there just in time to see Kevin "pouncing" at an ugly beast. "Crap! Lolita!" Revel realized the reason for the suicidal move of Kevin. He quickly rushed towards Lolita and picked her up, the run home. In a few seconds, he was back with the axe. Without thinking, he rushed towards the Marauding Baron who had Kevin in his clutches. He threw the axe without thinking but he still succeeded in cutting of a hand off the beast. This in the right sense shouldn't have been possible but because of their "training" with Bolderick, this feat was as easy as eating a pie for them. Kevin couldn't do it because he stricken with fear at the time. The beast released Kevin. "Huff! Huff! Thanks bro." But that wasn't the end. It was just the beginning. The beast looked at the kids with bloodshot eyes. It was clearly annoyed by the fact that he couldn't kill his prey and another kid like his prey could hurt. It was somehow beyond its reasoning. With an angry roar which didn't change much, it slashed at Kevin and punched at Revel.
And they d...
...
They didn't die. Something strange happened. Kevin's eyes turned red and beast like. His fingernails elongated slightly and transformed into claws. His hair stood on end and without knowing what was happening, he caught the claws of the beast. Something similar happened to Revel. His eyes turned metallic and his skin took on a metallic luster. Long tentacles shot out of his skin and quickly formed a shield in front him to take the attack of the beast. The duo lost control of their bodies but their survival instincts was enough to keep them alive. The beast once again was shocked. It couldn't even count the number of shocks it had had that day after meeting Kevin. Kevin doubled over and stood on all fours like a beast. The earth slightly cracked as he shot off towards the Marauding Baron. Revel's tentacles stretched and coiled around the nearest trees around him. Like a catapult, he was shot towards the beast. The tentacles turned pointy as he neared the beast and attacked it. The beast was clearly unprepared for this. Kevin attacked weirdly, like a rabid dog while Revel's attacks were more refined but hard to predict. The Marauding Baron's attacks were futile because anytime it attacked Kevin, he would either dodge or block the attack with his body which had become insanely tenacious. Revel's tentacles could switch betel defense and offense making him appear more annoying. In less than a minute, the beast was covered in unimaginable injuries;bites, gaping scars, bone revealing injuries, holes of different kinds, the sight was rather unlikely. The sad part was, no matter what it did, it couldn't fight back. The predator had become the prey in less than two seconds. It even lost its pride as a Marauding Baron.
