Sam Baker didn't report the discovery of the mammoth ivory by Yenia immediately to Sean Knight.
He first went to the location Yenia pointed out, observing carefully.
Indeed, from that angle, a bony tip was exposed—it was just particularly small, about the size of a fist.
"Are you saying this is mammoth ivory?" Sam Baker turned to ask Yenia.
"Definitely, and it must be a large piece of ivory!" Yenia said with conviction, "Look at this conical tip, from here you can tell the size of the ivory.
Based on my experience excavating ivory this year, such a large conical tip indicates the ivory inside is at least two meters long!"
At the moment, the two were standing in front of a seaside cliff about five or six meters high, with the conical bony tip about one meter above the ground.
