"The quality is all about the same," Alyosha said, showing Sean Knight the ivory, "The texture of the mammoth ivory on this whole stretch of beach is pretty consistent."
"Actually, when these pieces of ivory were dug up, they were together with the corpses of the mammoths. However, the poachers only wanted the ivory, so they just discarded the bodies," Alyosha continued.
Sean Knight thought to himself about the time he had dug up a woolly rhinoceros; in fact, he too had excavated its horns and left the rest buried.
It was the same, a waste of natural treasures.
"Then it's the same old rate, twenty thousand dollars each," Sean Knight said, "Your cut is one thousand dollars per piece."
"Great, great, great!" Alyosha had been awaiting those words eagerly, rubbing his hands together in excitement, "Can you give me the money now?"
Sean Knight walked around the tent and put the money into a bag, which he then handed to Alyosha.
