Melanie stayed on the island for two days. When the salvage ship was about to complete their mission, she said goodbye and left.
Before leaving, Melanie said to Sean Knight:
"Mr. Knight, if there are any new developments regarding the plane crashes in the future, please let me know."
Sean nodded in agreement.
Melanie didn't inform Sean of the final salvage results, but judging by her conversation with her superior, it seemed like they hadn't found anything valuable (which was highly unlikely).
After Melanie left, Sean thought his life would return to normalcy, but it turned out it couldn't.
He took his yacht out to sea to relax, and when passing by the accident site, he found that the official salvage ships were gone, but some private yachts and motorboats were still there.
There were divers on these boats, who occasionally surfaced with salvaged items or sometimes with nothing at all.
