Sean was somewhat puzzled by the sudden arrival of the two guests, though returning early wasn't a first, it was quite a coincidence to meet them both at once.
"I left first because I couldn't stand being at home anymore. I called them when I left, and Lincoln had something to do, and Douglas wanted to leave too, so they came."
Elijah took a glass of water handed to him by Oscar in the courtyard, said thanks, and explained the reason.
"What's going on? Why couldn't you stand it?" Sean asked with a smile.
Oscar brought another large plate of peaches at this time and placed it on the small table under the grape trellis. Then he said to Elijah and Douglas with a smile:
"You guys have a nice chat. I'll go get busy."
Then he went to the vegetable garden.
Looking at Oscar's retreating figure, Douglas's eyes were a bit strange.
