Sean Knight's return home didn't cause much of a stir in the village.
Perhaps it's because the village was established relatively late, and the people in the village came from all over the place. There were people from the South like Shanghai, Fujian, and the North like Henan and Shandong, as well as the Northwest like Gansu and Shanxi Province.
With such diverse regions and people, one advantage was that the customs of every region were brought along, but none of them formed a dominant culture. On the contrary, everyone being newcomers made the atmosphere quite nice.
For example, in terms of education, no family said their daughters couldn't go to school—Sean's most frequently heard phrase growing up was: "Even if we have to sell our pots and pans, we'll send you to school."
