Feeling uncomfortable to voice the request himself, he turned his attention to George, begging him with his eyes for help.
George hastily jumped in:
"Sean, are you not satisfied with Mr. Toone's offer? He's usually fair..."
"No."
As Sean packed his things, he said:
"I've had an offer this morning."
Having packed everything up, he then turned to George and said:
"The offer I got was five times that of this so-called 'fair' Mr. Toone. It was only out of respect for you that I came to see him, and yet..."
Hearing Sean's words, George felt a mix of joy and anger!
He was thrilled that Sean gave him the proper respect, saying he came here because of him.
Of course, it's most likely that Sean was hoping to get more offers for comparison.
What angered him was, did this Toone guy think everyone else was a fool?
