A deal?
Sean Knight turned his head to look at George Qiao.
Elder Joey had an unhappy face, and was opening a box.
"Hey, I told you to stop opening them!" George Qiao scolded his brother.
But Elder Joey didn't care and went inside the container to take out another cardboard box, slitting it with a small knife, only to find more copy paper inside.
"Shit!" Elder Joey tossed the box down and walked out angrily.
Then, George Qiao said to Sean:
"I saw you bidding 3000 dollars for this container earlier, so are you interested in it?"
Sean had a vague guess but kept his composure and said:
"Yes, what about it?"
"Congratulations, you can own this container now!" George Qiao exaggeratedly spread his arms and laughed:
"For just five thousand US dollars, it's yours!"
"No, no, no." Sean was secretly delighted but hurriedly waved his hands, "You've already opened the boxes outside and inside, and they're all copy paper. It's not worth five thousand US dollars!"
George Qiao muttered "shit" under his breath and turned to blame Elder Joey:
"I told you not to open the boxes inside..."
"Why didn't you sell this container to Madden?"
Sean pointed to Madden next to him.
Madden was packing up his instruments and sneered:
"They've already opened seven or eight boxes. These containers with uniform packaging usually contain similar items!
How could an opened blind box be worth that much?"
After hearing Madden's words, Sean spread his hands and said to George Qiao:
"You see, I think the same way. However..."
"What?" Sensing a turning point, George Qiao's spirits were immediately lifted.
"If the price can be reduced to 3,000 dollars, I think I might still be interested... You know, my initial bid was 3,000 dollars..."
As Sean said this, George Qiao's face turned bitter:
"That would be too much of a loss for us!"
"Exactly!" Hearing this, Elder Joey simply picked up another box from the container and said as he opened it:
"We might as well open more boxes ourselves!"
But it turned out to be more copy paper. Elder Joey threw the box away with a frustrated expression.
"Now it's only 2,900 dollars." Sean said as he cleaned up the garbage.
Elder Joey pointed at Sean and said angrily:
"You... don't go too far!"
Sean was not afraid of the two of them.
In the bar, after making money, these two brothers had done some shady things.
Neither were good people!
"Think about it." Seeing the two arguing, Sean continued: "I'll leave once I've cleaned up the trash here. You have ten minutes to decide."
Without raising his head, he continued to clean up the trash!
After the clothes were sold, the remaining garbage consisted of an old table and some tin cans.
It was quickly cleaned up.
Sean was disappointed.
Did he quote a price too low before?
Did it scare off the Joey brothers?
Neither the printers nor the paper were bad!
Forget it, if he couldn't get them, then he couldn't. That's all there was to it.
He made 3,000 dollars today, which was enough!
Converted to RMB, it's almost 20,000 yuan.
Contentment!
As Sean was about to take away the cleaned-up trash, George Qiao came over and said to him:
"Hey, Chinese boy, I'm giving you a break! This container, 3,000 dollars, is yours!"
"2,900." Sean refused to relent.
"Alright, alright, you can have it for as much as you say!"
Sean simply paid the money. After the two brothers took the money, they didn't seem to want to leave, probably wanting to watch Sean open more boxes.
Madden had already packed up his instruments and was ready to leave. Seeing the Joey brothers staying, he simply stayed to watch Sean open boxes as well.
However, Sean waved his hand and said:
"I won't open any more boxes. I'll find a truck and just take these things away."
George Qiao immediately tried to persuade him:
"The thrill of betting on containers lies in the gamble. If you win, that feeling of luck beyond belief is something you'll really enjoy!"
The others who stayed behind, including the owner of the freight yard, also encouraged Sean to open the boxes and take a look.
Sean waved his hand:
"Why don't the two of you gamble?"
While saying that, he called a car.
He planned to take the old table back to the container and use it himself. The rest of the garbage could be thrown away in roadside trash bins later.
As for those copy papers and printers, John had plenty of ways to get rid of them.
However, Elder Joey was still unconvinced and ran to the container, pulled out a box and opened it:
"Look, more copy paper..."
He then dragged out another box. Sean saw but could not stop him in time. Elder Joey had opened the box:
"Look, it's... Damn! It's a printer!"
Elder Joey froze on the spot!
Inside the box was a brand new printer!
He and George Qiao looked at each other, their eyes filled with regret!
Why hadn't they held on?
Sean saw them and coldly said:
"Elder Joey! You both broke the rules!"
Hearing this, the Joey brothers broke out in a cold sweat!
Yes!
When gambling containers, once the money is paid, the goods inside belong to the buyer!
Now, without the cargo owner's consent, Elder Joey had privately opened the box inside. This was a serious offense in the Americans' eyes!
Madden immediately added fuel to the fire:
"Yeah! Elder Joey, you've crossed the line! These things belong to Sean, and it's up to him whether he wants to open them or not!
What you're doing is illegal!"
As long as he could drive away a strong competitor, Madden was happy.
"Sean, I'm sorry!" Elder Joey backed down immediately, "It was unintentional. Besides, you saw it too, my lucky hand opened the door to wealth for you, didn't it?"
However, Sean was utterly unmoved by his sweet talk and coldly said:
"Without you opening it, the things inside that box wouldn't have disappeared! I think tonight, the entire New York Port District will know about your despicable behavior, Elder Joey!"
Elder Joey was really panicked this time!
He wasn't afraid of the Chinese boy, even looking down on this yellow-skinned laborer!
But if his violation spread throughout the entire port district, he wouldn't be able to hang around there anymore!
Elder Joey was still hesitating when George Qiao glared at him and came to Sean's side to plead in a soft voice:
"Sean, I know you Chinese people have good hearts. For the sake of us being fellow treasure hunters, please forgive my brother this time!"
"What are you asking for leniency?" Elder Joey rarely backed down. Having lost so much money this time, his mood was already terrible. He clenched his fist and came to Sean's face, speaking condescendingly:
"Shorty, you'd better mind your own business, or else I'll turn your container into ruins!"
Sean knew that Elder Joey was talking about the container he lived in.
It seemed that some people needed a thorough lesson to remember!
