The guardian deity of the city was not really afraid of Andrew and his companions, he just felt that there was something strange with his divinity and he did not want to get involved with a person whom he could not read.
Furthermore, like most high-level demigods, he preferred to live in tranquility and isolation, without worrying about the mundane situations around him.
He had assumed the role of guardian of the city but had never really had to intervene, as his mere name and power were enough to deter people from creating trouble.
This was one of the reasons why there were no other demigods in this city since a person with power like that would challenge his authority and that would force him to move and leave aside his life of tranquility.
