For many days Ben visited stark's mansion and together they would try to figure out something that can help them fix the Omnitrix.
Tony: Well we can try to make it immune to magnetic waves by magnetizing it.
Ben: That might act as a temporary solution but I want to fix it completely. The Omnitrix isn't affected by any kind of waves or radiations, instead, it can control and alter these radiations. But now it can't.
Tony: Well, still, just in case you ever need to do it in case of emergency then you can try that.
Ben: Alright, so what kind of upgrades do you want in your next armor?
Tony: Well I don't know, probably some minor upgrades, like speed or anything.
Ben: That arc reactor, it has a sufficient amount of energy, but still, to power that suit, it takes a lot of its energy, plus like you said, a poor arc reactor isn't enough for it to function properly, so I suggest you try to make the next suit in a way that it takes less energy in repulsors and what you call 'Unibeam'. That thing takes most of your energy.
Tony: Yeah I'll try that.
For a few days, Ben followed the same routine, work, meet with stark, and catch criminals at night. Sometimes he got to hear from S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. But nothing much happened. Everything was going on fine.
Few days later, stark tells Ben about the increasing terrorist activities, specifically "The Ten Rings" and he wishes to stop them using the Ironman armor.
For a few months, they both worked together to create the Mark 4 armor.
Tony: So what do we got?
Ben: Well most of the Mark 4 is finished. Just some final touches.
Tony: Alright. Then we will work on my special portable Mark 5
Ben: Yeah. I got ideas for that.
Tony: Good. Let's get working.
Ben: So what do you plan to do?
Tony: I'll look for Ten Rings' bases of operations. They have lurked in the shadows long enough. I'll end them. I've informed shield about them. They will take them down from the inside while I'll take them down from the outside. Earlier they had helped from Stane who provided them with our weapons, but not anymore.
Ben: Good. I'll help you.
Tony: I don't need your help. Besides, It's gonna be public.
Ben: I am public now. They call me "The Blue Entity".
Tony: To be honest, your help can make the job a lot easier and faster. Alright. Let's do it.

In Afghanistan:
Terrorist 1: We are in trouble. Because of Raza, we no longer will be provided with Stark weapons.
Terrorist 2: Why are we to pay for what Raza did?
Terrorist 3: No need to worry. We might not require Stark weapons anymore. We might have something better.
He shows the other terrorists what he found, some sort of alien technology scattered in the desert.
Terrorist 3: We have some powers of our own now.
For two years Ben along with Tony Stark as the Ironman search the globe for terrorist bases of the organization 'Ten Rings' and then destroy their bases along with all the weapons and technology they held, while shield took down several bases secretly. This made Ironman a national hero and Ben became famous and was named the 'Shapeshifter'.
Reporter: Sir are you and the shapeshifter working together? Who is he?
Tony: Well I'm not working with him, it's just we both have the same goal. And I can only say, the world has more than just one superhero.
During this time Tony was able to repair the Omnitrix a little such that now it doesn't get affected by electromagnetic fields and radiations. He also connected Omnitrix's AI with J.A.R.V.I.S. so that it can scan it to have a better understanding of the device to help repair it and so that Jarvis can upgrade itself from the AI of Omnitrix.
Ben: You know, with the progress we are having, I think I will be able to return to my universe very soon.
Tony: I hope so.
Ben: So how is the work on Mark VI?
Tony: Well I have done the usual and Jarvis is analyzing it for recommending upgrades and features. Wanna see? Jarvis progress report, features – Mark IV.
Jarvis: Mark IV has the usual design of the original Mark III armor, with some slight changes in appearance. The armor has the same weapons as that of Mark III including missiles, repulsors, lasers, flares, etc. the new features include increased max flying speed limit, stronger lasers, less energy consumption, more missiles and guns, and comfortable movement.
Tony: Nice. Now progress report, features – Mark V, AKA 'the football'.
Jarvis: Mark V is a special emergency armor designed using advanced nanotech. When not activated it is in the form of a suitcase. When activated it will build itself around the user to form the classic Ironman suit. It has a changed color design, and has minimum weapons, like repulsors and lasers only. The suit allows limited flight which can be considered as high jumps. Unlike other suits, this one is more prone to damage. And due to fewer features, it is less energy-consuming.
Ben: Nice. I like it.
Tony: So based on that what do you suggest in Mark VI?
Ben: Well you know classic Mark IV. Add more laser-based weapons, although they would consume more energy. Add flight stabilizers, to help you fly easily and attack while flying with accuracy. And whatever else you want to add to it.
Tony: Right. You heard that Jarvis? Try some of that. Now I better get ready.
Ben: For what? Going somewhere?
Tony: I told you, Stark Expo.
Ben: Oh yeah! Right, you better hurry. I'll be there.
