John's POV
"Don't mind me being poking nose asking, but its everything alright?"
I asked Diane Jane as I can see she's distraught about something. She looks like she's scared of speaking out until she looks at me.
"Do you have a car?"
She asks and I nodded my head. "I need to go to CHMC urgently." She whispers explaining to me. "CHMC?" I looked at her and soon get what she meant.
"Are you not feeling well or hurt?"
I asked her right away and she shook her head, which make me believe something grave had happened. For some reason, I can sense something must have happened in her family that have gotten her that anxious and distraught.
I soon give her my keys which had her looking at me in shock. "A-Are you sure?" She asked me in a whisper surprised. "I have things to do till tonight after lunch and don't need the car, have it, you need it." I tell her with very much certainty that she will return the keys.
Diane's POV
"I have things to do till tonight after lunch and don't need the car, have it, you need it." John answers me with very much certainty.
"T-Thank you" I thanked him, very touched enough to take the keys from him. "The car is at the ground level near Lift Joseph, car plate JCDM-1870." He adds on.
"Thank you!"
I thanked him nervously before running to take the lift to the ground level. I was at Lift Joseph seconds after to find a car with the same plate JCDM as what John has said.
Took me seconds to open the car and start up on my way to CHMC. I somewhat managed to keep my focus on throughout the drive despite how distraught and worried I am about everybody at home.
'Please be okay'
I keep praying and praying in my mind as I drove as fast as I could, not forgetting about not speeding on the road. I am so scared considering my brothers are still underage and none of my younger sisters know how to defend themselves.
-10 Minutes Later-
I parked the car and arrived at the medical center. The first people I see are Anna and Christine, my younger sisters. "How's everybody?" I asked as I run towards them.
"C-Cold...S-Scared..." Christine shivers answering while I saw Anna's arm on cast. "No fractures but when I was getting the robbers off me, one of them pushed me and I fell, didn't know I will hit on the hot iron." Anna explains.
"Those people are surely very senseless." I said before getting them to tell me what happened.
Vincent's POV
"I don't know" Keona whispered shrugging her shoulders while I asked her what my boy Antonio is doing staring into space.
"Let me see"
I say to her wondering about a moment before going to the vending machine to buy myself a bottle of Clearly Canadian.
I soon opens the bottle cap before going towards Antonio and pour the whole bottle of sparkling water on his face.
"OH MY G-WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"
He jumps in shock screaming like a girl as usual whenever that happens to him. "Well that work really well doesn't it?" I laughed a little as Keona quietly excuses herself back to her office.
"OH MY GOD PAPA!!"
He just gasps, not very loudly, the moment he realizes that it was me which didn't infuriate me, a good thing for me since his brothers on the others will really be screaming all day if I do the same thing to them.
"Whacha fussing for here alone? Come to my office at once, Agent Montessori"
Keona's POV
"You alright there?"
Madame Lupin asked me when I got back from Glen's school and witnessing the Chief giving Antonio quite the face washing I didn't see coming.
"Just praying hard I'm of good hearing." I said sitting on my seat sighing. "What's wrong really? Did Mr Glen do something that isn't to your liking?" Lupin asks me.
"Not Glen, its Grasby being a problem as usual."
I reassured her smiling a little. "That teacher never really likes Mr Glen, his real father maybe gone but he has Mr Glen looking out for him." She soon rants a little
"Though you and I both know that Grasby is just out for Mr Glen for very stupid reasons." She then adds on. "I am just wishing she can back off from Glen some days, from the bottom of my heart." I then said to her.
"Gloria is already having it rough and tough, I don't really wish for Glen and Gwen to suffer the exact same treatment she has gotten." I added on my concern. "Everything will be fine." Lupin reassures me before I noticed John being gone.
"Where's my new mentee?" I soon asked her. "Getting some food for lunch, he's very hardworking for the past few hours." She tells me as she passes me some work I have given John to do while I was away.
I was impressed by what I saw, Felicita was sure right about John, he is very promising and has a future in the FBI. Even if he can't be the Chief, he will certainly make a name and a legend of himself.
"Analyst Rhineburg and Officer McForbes have very sure taught their boy well."
I said to Madame Lupin impressed by John's quality work so far. "He can handle the Nat Hayden case for sure." I added on.
"However, for already 10 years, the case is pretty much still not solved. Is that a risky and scary move for a new officer like him to handle a decade old cold case too soon?" Lupin soon looks at me uncertain.
I did hesitate for a second when she said that to me cause as a mother myself, any mother also won't wish for their son to go through such pressuring and suffocating time during the first days of their job.
"Risky it maybe, however, for this case to be solved and for John's career, I had to do what I had to do."
I looked at Lupin answering with mostly certainty in my tone of voice. "Alright then, I will go find where the new recruit is before getting back to you about his whereabouts." She tells me before excusing herself, leaving me alone for some time.
I hope John doesn't hate me for this...he has to learn one day...
