Chapter 1 - 1: CHLOE EVANS

I looked at myself in front of the mirror for the final time to check my whole ensemble before leaving my apartment. I'm wearing a short navy blue dress that reached my mid-thigh and a lady suit jacket of the same color. On my feet was a black knee high boots with three inch heels. I also styled my hair in soft and big ringlets framing my face that made it look smaller. I'm wearing light make-up since it's still early in the morning and I don't really like having thick or heavy make-up on my face. Besides, I don't need them anyway since I have a porcelain skin with natural blush. My mother is korean who married my american-korean father, so it's thanks to their genes that I get to look so pretty. I'm not just bragging, it's a fact.

I'm Chloe Evans, a fresh college graduate and I'm currently thinking of what my next move or plan. I don't have work yet since I'm still not really sure what I want to do, but what I don't want to do is to be stuck for several hours inside an office doing the same thing every damn day.

I like doing arts, though, and I'm currently into drawing some artsy stuff and posting it on my social media and I even sell some of it online. Hmm, maybe I'll have a future on being a graphic novelist or an illustrator. Something to really think about.

But for now, I'm on my way to go to my best friend Stacy's office. We met during freshman college and she was taking business course while I was taking a psychology course - why that course, because it was fun and easy and I enjoy it. We had some few classes together and we became friends and the rest was history. I learned that she was taking business course because her mother owned various businesses focusing on Fashion and Stacy would be taking over managing it in the future and she also loves to design fashionable clothes and accessories. While I took my psychology course because like I said it was fun and an easier course. But I have no plan to be a shrink or something like that. And then I realize after hanging out with Stacy that I also enjoy arts, mainly drawing and illustrating stuffs. So while taking my course, I also took some lessons for photography and art class to hone my skill. Stacy joined my on my art class, too.

And thanks to my artistic side, I get to sell some stuff that I design and illustrate online, and I'm gaining some regular clients and some new ones when they recommended me to their friends and acquaintances. And I'm really happy and thankful for that. And soon, I'm thinking of joining and going to some conventions and events to sell my arts and designs.

While I'm musing with all my future plans for my art business while still checking myself in front of the mirror with satisfaction, my cellphone started ringing.

I walk towards my queen size bed inside my bedroom where I put my medium size purse. I took the bag and look for my cellphone.

"Yeah?" I said to the other person on the line after I held my cellphone. Stacy is calling me already.

"Are you on your way already?" Stacy asked me. She sounded so hopeful and excited

I roll my eyes and shake my head in amusement. "I'm just about to leave my place." I told her as I gather my things and walk out of my room while still talking to her on the phone.

"I thought that you left earlier already." Stacy reminded me.

Yeah, we talk about meeting at her office before ten in the morning so that we can have lunch together after that. But since I got inspired with drawing so much new ideas and characters that's why I didn't notice that it's getting late already, so I slept late and woke up late. And now it's almost nine-thirty in the morning and I doubt that I can arrive at her office at exactly ten.

"Sorry, I didn't notice it was late last night since I'm so engrossed with my drawings." I told her as I locked my apartments main door after stepping out of my apartment. I saw my uber already waiting for me outside. Since I'm not bringing a car that my parents gifted me after I graduate, it's brand new and I don't want to scratch it since I'm still learning how to drive, so I'm using uber. "I'm already on my way. Just got inside uber." I inform her.

"Fine. I'll see you soon. I hope you'll get here before him. He doesn't like it wheb someone's late." Stacy told me.

I frown as I settle and get comfortable inside my uber. "Who's him? What are you talking about?"

"It's because you agreed to be my model for my next fashion collection for Fashion week, right, and that's why I talk to my cousin and he's also coming for our meeting. I'll tell you the whole details later when you arrive." Stacy informed me.

"Fine. But I don't know why your cousin have to be there, too." I muttered, still confuse.

"Later. I'll tell you everything later." Stacy said again.

That got me more curious about what she's planning.

"Fine, fine. Good thing there's not much traffic. Hopefully it'll stay that way until I arrive there." I told her.

"Yeah. As long as you arrive first or we'll never hear the end of his lecture about how precious his time is." Stacy told me, she's sounding a bit sarcastic.

Whoever that cousin of hers is, it seems like he sounds like he got a stick up his ass.

"Okay, later." I told her before I hang up after she also said her see-you laters.

I sigh and look outside the windor after I put my cellphone back inside my bag. I have no plan of browsing online while I'm in a moving vehicle. It will just give me a headache.

And while I look at the houses, buildings and different establishments we passed by on the way, I recall the reason why I'm going to Stacy's office today.

It's because she asked me for a favor. Actually plead for it. Based on what she said, with this new fashion collection of hers, I'm her muse. So her collection is inspired by my looks. Which she dubbed as 'enchanting'. that's why she thought of a fairy tale theme fashion collections of clothes and accessories. And what better way to present it to the market than to have me model it also.

It took a lot of convincing since I'm not really a social butterfly. I'm more comfortable of being in a less crowded places. I like my peace and quiet, compared to Stacy who loves socializing.

So, after almost pleading and nonstop bribing and promising that I can also ask her for a favor in return, I agreed. Not just because of the favor and bribing, it's because we're best friends and I just want to tease and make her sweat a bit. But having a favor from her didn't hurt either, hah.

And after several more minutes, my uber stopped in front of a chick looking building. The fashion house that Stacy's mother owned.

I stepped out of my uber after settling my payment through the app and then went straight smashing my forehead into a hard wall blocking my way.

I look up and saw a frowning and displeased handsome and intimidating guy looking down at me.

Yeah, I barely reach his shoulders even wearing three inch heeled boots.
