Chapter 40 - Chapter 040 : Spirit Tower (1)

Blue Feather City, Commercial Area.

A young man, strolled past the many shops and the scattered stalls along the commercial street, with a destination in mind.

A while passed before Arthur stood in front of the tallest building he had come across in his not-so-short walk around the area.

Unlike the earlier street crowded with street vendors, the area here was less crowded, with no vendors to be seen, pedestrians were less noisy,

" Even their outfits seem somewhat of a higher quality, even though this still is the commercial street~ " Arthur mused to himself

he looked at the metallic board hanging above its gate with words written in an elegant font, " Spirit Tower ", with the words " Blue Lake branch " written below it in a smaller font.

Moving past the gates a conversation caught his attention, an old man was chitchatting with a youngster.

" Little one, why are you here again? "

" Uh it- its because- "

" haven't i told you many times before?"

The youngster was looking left and right, anxious, trying to escape the old man

"Tsk, listen here, young sprout! I see you've managed to crawl your way up to the fifth-level Awakening Realm, have ya? Well, color me unimpressed! You think you're special but mark my words ' you might have some talent as a profound cultivator but a formation master? Impossible! '. ".

Arthur looked at the rowdy old man and the troubled young kid for a second before moving forward, entering the tower,

A staff of the Spirit Tower came to Arthur and greeted him,

" Welcome sir, how may I help you, are looking for a formation expert's service? "

Arthur greeted in return, " Hello, I'm looking for cultivation resources for spirit cultivators, Does the spirit tower sell any? "

"Of course sir, if you are looking for resources below the foundation stage I can guide you to them right now, if for higher realms then I'm afraid I will have to ask a senior staff to take my place! "

" I Need resources for the foundation realm as a start "

" Then sir, if you could wait for a moment ..."

" I will wait for you there. ", Arthur indicated with his chin in a certain direction and the staff understood when he saw a ain't boulder there.

" yes sir, I'll be back swiftly."

Arthur moved towards the place that grabbed his attention from earlier, cultivators exuding the clear of spirit energy gathered around a giant stone, in groups of twos and threes they spoke in low voices yet the main topic they all talked bout was clearly this stone,

From what Arthur gathered hearing the conversation and looking around, it seemed like some kind of talent assessment,

" I don't remember testing my talent before... should I try? "

at that moment a scholarly-looking man pushed ahead and to the stone boulder, wearing the cloak of a formation master with the insignia of the Spirit Tower, his affiliation was clear.

a staff member came and spoke to him a few words then took a step to the side, the formation master lifted his hand and placed his palm on the stone, an instant later, his aura climbed showing a strength equalling that of a Foundation realm profound cultivator!

Silence spread as everyone looked with focus at the stone boulder for any changes, moments later, an amber glow spread from the top of the boulder

Chatter sprung in the crowd!

Someone said in surprise " It reacted! "

another remarked, " It glowed Amber, doesn't that mean his talent is of intermediate rank?"

The one beside him said, " Gray for lower rank, Amber for intermediate, Green for high and Gold for peak rank, although it is said only those from the headquarters in the central continent ever made it glow golden!"

Arthur listened curiously to the others speaking, unsurprisingly, listening well always brought answers to most questions.

a moment later, just when Arthur thought of trying out this talent-testing stone a voice called him from behind,

" Greetings young sir. "

Arthur turned his head, to find the staff from earlier, accompanied by a man, seemingly in his early thirties, wearing formal attire and the unmistakable smile of a merchant.
