A week after I created 'The Architect,' I finally got my first job. It was a boring as hell one Buh it was one of the few things I signed up for. The job was from a university student with issues on how to go about a school project. He paid the amount I requested for the job then ran his ideas by me and I helped him pick the easiest one he could make among his list and actually understand the process as I explain step by step.
After a few tries following my instructions, he was able to build an electricity glove. I don't know why a student would want to build an electricity glove as a project but it was none of my concern. That was the most mellow creation on the list, it was either that or a plasma cannon.
I don't know if he was a supervillain aspirant but that kid must have a screw loose upstairs, who the fuck makes weapons as a school project. Well, with the success of his project I got my first review and it was the first step to building the site.
Most people would think I am a nerd regarding how smart I was when it came to anything relating to mathematics or physics, anything that would make the average man think critically came easy to me so long I put in the effort to learn. So, super smart, yeah, genius maybe. I have a tendency to understand things faster than most people, kind of like a quick learner of some sort.
The incident regarding the crooks from the other day just reminded me of how rotten this verse is. I have been turning the other way and ignoring it as I just pass by going about my daily life without involving myself and staying clear from such, yes my previous world was filled with rotten people but it is the norm around here. I have been trying not to involve myself in such incidents but it seems like sometimes I would have no choice but to.
Getting involved with the crazies of this world would just attract more crazies, if only the heros had a more proficient punishment for those scumbags better than just throwing them in Iron Heights, I'm sure the crime rate would have depreciated drastically, not fully but to a noticeable degree. They see being put in jail as a normal thing and sometimes they go there to make friends with other top villains.
When they escape or get out after serving their time, they'll have a meet and cook up a plan on how to fuck up the city next time or how to deal with the speedsters, then fuck up the city.
But honestly I think these villians are just too dumb and fixated on one city, if they want to to steal and run around a city like they fucking own it why not go to a city without heroes present or would take a while before the heroes get to them.
No, they prefer the thrill of trying to outsmart heroes and causing chaos in a major city with heroes as its guardian angels, yet they'll eventually get caught and arrested, get released then repeat the same mad cycle over and over again.
I wonder if heroes ever gets tired and just say fuck it, then take days off from their hero duties, just kick back and relax while the city burn. But most would say 'evil never sleeps' and keep working themselves to the bone trying to make a difference in a city that doesn't want to be saved.
But personally I think the villains should have the win for a change, and I don't mean those temporary wins where the heroes come back and claim the city after a few days of planning but like after three months or so.
There should be a shift in control every once in a while, but then again these psychopaths would just burn the city to the ground. Sometimes I wonder what these villains actually want, give them the city they would turn it into a wasteland, don't give them the city and they'll start causing chaos and breaking into banks just to get the attention of the heroes.
The other day I was relaxing on a bench at the park as I tried to take in the peace of mind which came along with the natural scenery when I noticed a kid playing catch with his dad. Each time the dad tossed the ball over to the kid, it felt like I could calculate the speed at which the ball moved through the air. The impact of the ball against the baseball gloves too was something else, it was like these calculations were trying to surface as they lingered at the back of my mind. The speed of the ball as it traveled through the air, and the momentum of the ball when it is released along with its inertia after impact.
Considering my powers are indeed vector related, I have been doing research on them and wanting to see how I could utilize them to their full potential. That way I would know exactly what I was capable of and what I was not. But for now I can only change the vector of whatever I was in contact with.
…
Wally stood in front of Barry's crime board over at the CCPD, his crime lab. The crimes he was trying to connect the dots with, were the ones the police had no lead on.
"What are you doing here?" Barry asked Wally as he walked in with a cup of coffee in his hand.
"Nothing, just figured I'd stop by to deliver the forensic reports of the data you had Star Labs analyze." He scratched the back of his head trying his best not to make his true intention for coming too obvious.
"You know you're a terrible liar right?" Barry said as he took a seat by his desk and took a little sip from his cup of coffee.
"Okay you've got me, these crimes are the ones the police are still not able to trace back to anyone right?" He asked his mentor as he tried to make sense of how the police have been getting to a few crime scenes and not getting any solid proof of the culprits involved.
"Yeah, the jobs were done with precision and seemed to have only been executed after delicate planning. There's no evidence left behind which matches the signature of any criminal we have encountered and they always made sure to leave the scene before the cops arrived or even before the alarm goes off, it's like they just vanish into thin air." He tried not to make it too big of a deal so the young speedster won't start chasing a trail that might put him in danger.
"That means there's a new player in town." Wally said with a small smile creeping on his face as he wanted to crack the case faster than his mentor would.
"I know that face, please do not do anything rash until we have identified the people behind these operations." He knew the young blood would want to be the first to catch these criminals.
"I promise I won't do anything that would put me in danger, most of all I wouldn't run in blind if I get a clue concerning the culprits." He tried convincing his mentor so he would share more information concerning that case with him.
"Okay, but for now there's no lead." Barry sighed as he took another sip.
"What do you mean there's no lead?" With a confused look on his face, Wally turned his attention from the board unto Barry.
"I mean they don't have a pattern as to how they operate or what they steal, all we know is that they only steal high value items and a few months back they stole an experimental project Ivo Laboratories were working on. The police were almost onto them but they had an escape plan for that scenario, as the police got to the scene they all dispersed into different directions and disappeared during the chase."
"What would they want with an experimental project?" Wally asked as he mused at the thought of it.
"Like I said, I don't know. So just let it go and when they show up again, we'll be ready for them." He took another sip from his coffee as his expression suddenly became more serious than it was earlier.
"This must be a major headache for the cops, whoever it might be that's behind these operations need to be stopped before they successfully steal something extremely dangerous and could hurt a lot of people." With a worried look on his face, Wally took a seat opposite Barry, for the first time in a while their speed wasn't enough to catch these criminals or the one behind it all.
