Timeless found himself unable to comprehend what he was seeing at the moment. He noticed his stats for both Soul energy and constitution were maxed out, which was surprising, although he could feel his body was a lot stronger, he still couldn't understand how such a thing was possible.
Moving his eyes to the skill section, what he saw gave him another shock. "A mythic rank skill??" He thought to himself, not believing his luck in acquiring such a skill for free, despite almost losing his life. It was a stroke of fortune he never expected.
In God's domain, the highest rank that has ever been achieved by humans was the Legendary rank. The concept of a Mythic rank had never been mentioned before. Staring intently at the skill, he grasped something and finally understood its true nature.
It was a skill that was capable of causing a crack in space, enabling one to escape from danger or a tough situation via the crack. Think of it as a short-distance transmission, but not one without limits. It seems it was a one-time use skill; one can only move within a radius of 100 km. He still wondered how it was possible, as he didn't have spatial element. Also, "whatever happened to that orb?" he wondered.
Timeless stood up after a while since he couldn't make head of what was happening right now, and had already gained immense benefit from his suicidal act. He didn't want to linger around anymore, so he proceeded to head back from where he came. The pressure from the colossal skeleton had already dispersed, as if there was no point anymore. And since that pressure isn't there anymore to scare the beast of this world off, it was best to leave and look for another safe spot.
There was nothing to be sad about at the moment, as his only thought was to get stronger. So much stronger that he doesn't have to suffer such humiliation in the future. Recalling the event that led up to here, his eyes become bloodshot, and he radiates an immense murderous aura.
With purpose in his steps, Timeless emerged from the cave and consulted the map in his hand, determined to pick his next destination. He set off into the distance, a mixture of loss and gain weighing heavy on his mind. Although he had lost his trusty dagger, he had gained a valuable core and other immense benefits that would aid him on his journey.
...
Takhiri camp, the Frost clan's conquered zone, housed a large hall occupied by them. A youth could be seen making a report to the clan head with a wronged look on his face. Standing by the clan head's side was a girl, who could be described as something out of a painting, with a frown on her face. After listening to the youth's report, she felt that such injustice shouldn't be allowed to happen in their place of operation and needed to be dealt with.
The clan head stared at the youth for a while before asking, "Can you vividly recall the face of this youth that you said had planned to assassinate you, young Kelvin?"
Kelvin nodded and proceeded to present a painting of the youth he had made after meeting an artist as soon as he got his wounds cleaned. The Frost clan knew what had happened to him as he was carried into the camp with a bloodied face.
The Frost clan leader looked at the picture for a while before passing it to one of the guards and stating that he wanted the youth found as soon as possible. Kelvin, upon seeing this, had a bright smile on his face as he could already foresee the fate that awaited the youth if found. Feeling proud of himself, he bowed down to the clan head and said, "Many thanks," before standing up and waiting to be dismissed.
The Frost clan leader waved his hands and dismissed him, and with that, Kelvin left the hall. Turning to look at Guinevere, the youth standing beside him, he asked, "Guinevere, what do you think of this matter? I would like to listen to your opinion on this."
Guinevere thought for a while before saying, "Father, Kelvin is our guest at the moment, and if any harm comes to him within our territory, it would seem as if we're weak. The Gale clan and we have carried out multiple expeditions and could be said to be good allies. If what Kelvin said did happen, then this matter needs to be dealt with efficiently."
"That is a good point," the Frost clan leader said with a frown, "but my intuition tells me otherwise." It wasn't that the life of one little youth could affect him much, but still, he didn't want to kill someone unjustly without knowing the truth of the matter, and something was telling him that all wasn't as it seemed.
"When is the next expedition taking place?" he inquired while deep in thought.
Guinevere immediately cast her gaze towards her father while wondering why he was asking this time around, because he never inquired on such matters before. But she quickly put that thought behind her, as she has never been able to understand some decisions her father made. So she hurriedly said, "A week from now, Father, we'll be heading off to the east near the borders of the snowy mountains to hunt the Silver frost bears and carry out the main task while at it."
After thinking for a while, the Frost clan leader nodded and said, "Proceed as planned. Keep me updated on the info of that youth. If found, I want you to alert me."
Although puzzled by this, she could only nod and then proceeded to leave the hall, but not after taking one more glance at the portrait her father was holding.
Seeing his daughter leave the hall, he proceeded to summon one of the guards and asked for the info on the members of the expedition team. His thoughts unknown.
