"Hey Sir, are you okay?" Timeless asked the old man who was in a dazed state, his mind wandering, thinking of various reasons why the mysterious man was in the state he was but his face soon flushed red with embarrassment after a thought came across his mind, he was picturing the old man being frozen stiff due to him witnessing his epic fail.
"Monster! Just who the hell are you boy?" the old man silently thought to himself, gritting his teeth In frustration at the sight he just witnessed.
"You just attained mild success in a technique that took my clan 300 years to perfect in just a single attempt. Although it is an altered version I demonstrated, it is still mind-boggling to see how you grasped the essence of the art after a single attempt," the old man said after composing himself while giving him a strange look.
"Mild success! So it wasn't a fail?" Timeless asked feeling elated at the thought of actually succeeding.
"Of course not boy, did you mean to say my eyes could deceive me?" The old man asked with a frown displeased by the question.
"I thought it would take a couple of hours for you to figure it out but you exceeded my expectations. Alright in the next 12 hours, you'll be stuck here practicing this technique until you gain basic mastery, when I'm satisfied with the result I'll let you leave" the old man said while grinning.
"Dammit, 12 hours is he trying to kill me?" Timeless grumbled at the thought of having to train for 12 hours without stopping.
Although this game-like world wasn't 100 percent like the real world, everything you feel in here is just the same, it's a beautiful creation really just like the real world, the movements, and the various emotions, the feeling of punches connecting and your body moaning in pain, it felt just makes one feels as if they were in another world similar to God's domain"
The old man quietly went to the edge of the arena and sat down crossed legs, Timeless seeing this knew that he had to make up his mind, although he disliked the thought of training arduously for hours if he actually succeeded in achieving basic mastery in such a mystical skill it would be to his benefit.
Wanting to get this over with, Timeless quickly attempted the movement of the Devil's void technique and this time he fell flat he didn't need anyone to tell him it was a fail, turning to look at the old man he saw him closing his eyes not bothering to look at his direction, he felt relieved seeing this.
Timeless attempted a couple more times as the clock ticked ever so slowly, hours passed in his attempt as he looked at the Timer above, the game had no time limits for matches, the only factor it considers was a victory or someone having to quit the battle thereby determining a victor.
At the moment it was less than 2 hours left, and he began to wonder if the first attempt was a fluke at this point, laying on the floor feeling drained he recalled the first attempt.
"What was different? was it because I didn't put much effort? No that isn't it, I did everything exactly the same maybe I don't have the heart for this" He muttered to himself but then a realization suddenly hit him.
"That's it, heart, I didn't put much heart into it, I was rushing to get it over with and I forget the most important thing"
With the newfound strength he stood up and walked to the center of the arena with heavy steps as he attempted to try his luck at it again recalling that feeling he once had he allowed himself to get lost in the feeling, he stomped his feet on the ground and burst forth with every ounce of energy and with a flash he disappeared this time not losing his balance.
"I did it, I really succeeded," Timeless said as he laid down on the floor panting heavily as he felt immense joy at his success.
"Good job boy, it is to my greatest joy to have witnessed the birth of such a genius, hopefully, you can go improve further on the skill," the old man said with a huge smile plastered on his face.
"Improve further huh? we'll see" Timeless muttered to himself as he turned to look at the old man with a smile on his face and said "Thanks for your Guidance master"
"Due to God's domain, the boundaries of human imagination have reached a greater height there is no term like impossible anymore, you're only limited by your mind, open your mind to all possibilities and let your destiny guide you," The old man said as he stood up and after a while, he said, "Time's almost up boy, is there anything else you want to ask?"
Timeless seeing this hurriedly asked him some more questions regarding techniques creation, and the old man answered them casually. Having all of his questions answered, he was felt grateful to have had such a rare opportunity.
One last thought remained ever-present in his mind though, Turning to look at the old man he said "Master why are you still at the mortal realm? it's impossible for you to be at the mortal realm with such a technique you should be a well-known figure but no one knows about you, why do you stick to the mortal realm and for what purpose did you choose me without even knowing my personality or anything about me, I do find these strange hopefully you can answer this last question of mine"
"I have been waiting for you to ask that, it's good to know you got a brain," the old man said as he chuckled slightly.
"I chose you because I wanted change, you're not the first person to be chosen by me, all others have failed or given up on the way but I haven't lost hope yet, there is someone that will lead the current humans into a new age as long as I still breathe I will continue finding that someone and to why I choose you, I don't know myself but let's just attest it to destiny shall we, maybe it was your fate to inherit my clan's greatest creation and for why I am still in the mortal realm, who said anything about me being in the mortal realm?" The old man said with a smile that looked rather creepy.
"Then how was it possible the game deemed you to be in the mortal stage?" Timeless asked feeling quite puzzled.
"Haha, you're still too young kid maybe when next we meet if fate permits you'll know " the old man laughed and replied vaguely.
"Can I at least know the name of my Master?" Timeless asked in a perturbed way.
"My name might bring great disaster to you if anyone knows you're associated with me boy, but be it as it may you're right, you deserve to know," The old man said as he walked towards Timeless and whispered in his ears and with that, he disappeared.
