Ian's POV
I closed the curtains, preventing the moonlight from entering the room. Darkness burgeoned everywhere, only a tiny ray of light passing through the space in between the curtains.
/"Are you sure this is a good idea?/" My brother asked, crossing his arms.
I gave him a curt nod.
Albazar never liked prophecies. He claimed they were false predictions used to escape reality. So I understood why he was so unsure of this.
Gabrielle and her sister, Vera, dropped candles on the concrete floor, forming a circle. After that, the latter picked up a knife.
/"Ian, Albazar, step forward,/" she commanded.
I exchanged glances with my brother and we both moved forward.
