/"Stop teasing me, Meg. You know he’s a no to re-round banging. See you later./" I sprint away from her before she can reply. I can still hear her laughter when I reach the door.
/"But you want to consider it, Cam!/"
I huff a frustrating breath and turn the ignition of my beat up 2001 Chevy Impala. This is all I have. Who will think someone who designs a car driving a beat-up? I never use the car I won on the bet and neither touch the money, but I know it’s already on my account because of the bank notification I received on that same day. Crap!
I don’t even notice it’s raining when I get to the parking lot.
I focus on the road despite the cold heavy rain. My wiper screeches of how old it is. It doesn’t help much of wiping away the rain on my windshield, then my car suddenly idle to a halt.
