His booming voice resonated like a killing siren in office, almost giving me a cardiac arrest. I jumped and stumbled back when his eyes shot the first strike of hurt in my direction.
The words were spoken with such ferocity that I almost came to tears, but I calmed myself by taking a deep breath and looked back in his eyes, holding the confidence.
