Valentine
With my shoe-clad foot, I nudged her side. But she didn’t move. Rolling my eyes, I reached for the broken jug filled with water and poured the entire content on her face. Yet she didn’t bother to twitch. The jug fell from my hand and I immediately came on my knees. My fingers flew to check her pulse. Her body was ice cold. When I touched her pulse, no sensation happened. As if the very life is sucked out of my lungs, I gasped. Fear settled in my heart like fifteen years ago.
