And as he pressed his lips to Ronan's temple, he vowed that he'd stop at nothing until it was rekindled.
/"Yeah?/"
/"Are you 'kay?/" he asked, sniffling pitifully. His cheeks were red and his lashes were so wet that they stuck to his cheeks. /"Ad-dumb hurt you?/"
Adam had thrown the first punch. Raven always let them throw the first punch. Gave him the excuse he needed. Gave him the self-defence card to play in case things got messy. But fuck, he was glad that it played out that way. If he'd been the one to attack Adam, if he'd been the one to instigate, would it have been Adam's arms he would have been in right now?
He shuddered. Didn't even want to think about it. It left a bad taste in his mouth.
And to think he'd broke bread with the bastard. To think he'd called him friend once, and the three of them had sat up drinking and laughing and joking. What a fucking joke.
