Sly looked cold so he smothered the cutie-pie in a blanket, balancing a kiss on the corner of his temple and telling him how fabulous he looked today just for good measure. Just in case nobody had told him that today. Lucien kept rocking on his chair, so he got scolded, and then praised when he proved himself a good boy and listened to the warning.
It wasn't until he took a step back and took notice of what he was doing that he realised he'd slipped mindsets slightly. For him, it wasn't just who he was. It didn't come naturally to him the way it did with Angel or Jackson. His caregiver side was much like his Little side, and was invoked through triggers or events — through need and want. He couldn't slip into those shoes on demand anymore than he could activate his tiddly mindset with a click of his fingers. Although, he found his Little side easier to deal with and to reach.
