/"Are you just going to stand there with that stupid look on your face?/" She asked Deacon without looking up from her rapid twisting needles. /"Or are you going to say what you have to say?/"
Deacon sucked in a strong breath before he pointed at me with the hand that wasn't grasping mine, like he was afraid that I was going to run off. /"Him. You let him do a reading./"
Talia looked up and winked at me. /"How did it go?/"
/"She was going to pay me but that butthead stopped her. She still tipped though./" Grinning, I waved the note, scowling as Deacon snatched it out my hand.
/"How could you have thought that was a good idea?/" Deacon asked. He eyed the note, before growling and handing it back to me. I shoved it into my pocket in triumph.
/"We had a customer come in for a reading and you weren't here. I could have done it, but it meant leaving him in charge out here. I took the lesser of two evils./"
