I froze beneath the contact, staring at him wide-eyed. He threw me back an innocent look.
/"Your brother seems happy. I really don't think he's being forced into doing something he doesn't want to do. I think you should be more concerned with yourself./"
/"Myself?/" I asked.
Deacon nodded. /"Your brother knows what he wants. He's accepted himself. I think you need to do the same. Did — have you figured out whether the kiss meant anything yet? Or have you managed to come up with a thousand different excuses as to why it didn't?/"
/"It wasn't helpful,/" I concluded at last. /"I mean, I still like kissing girls. I've kissed girls. I like the way it feels and when we kissed — it was nothing like that./"
